Hallo, tut mir leid, wenn ich mir schwer tue und Unterstützung benötige: Ich habe gestern drei Fotos hochgeladen, die zum Wikipedia-Beitrag "Jörg Hofmann (Gewerkschafter)" gestellt werden sollen. Da die Bilder dort bisher nicht erschienen sind: Bitte, was muss ich tun, damit sie dort zu sehen sind?

Uploading[edit]
This is very frustrating and nothing goes as planned. I have clicked on Upload and selected a file. The circular image keeps revolving and never stops. After a couple of minutes when I click on upload another file it just keeps revolving and I cannot select any file.

Жахливо незручна форма[edit]
Я був змушений почати завантажувати файли на вікісховище виключно через активність деяких інших користувачів, які активно перезаливають файли з нашої рідної вікіпедії до Вікісховища, завдяки чому я втрачаю змогу спостерігати за знайденими і завантаженими мною файлами. Отже, чому "жахливо незручна". Тому що вона була розроблена або людьми, які щиро ненавидять редакторів і хотіли з нас позбиткуватися, або розроблена суто для людей, яким подобаються нефункціональні візуальні інтерфейси. Це просто неймовірно наскільки лайняно виконаний функціонал, що забезпечує єдину важливу роль вікісховища - завантаження сюди файлів. Покидьків, які були відповідальні за її розробку і впровадження необхідно негайно звільнити з найгіршими рекомендаціями. Дякую за увагу.

Everything got deleted! "Stashed files not found"[edit]
I uploaded about 20 files, but to add all the explanations and geocoordinates took me a few days. Although the internet connection let me select Categories for the images, when I finally "submitted" everything, it just deleted EVERYTHING, saying "The stashed file was not found when attempting to upload it from the stash." Despite that the images were all right there on the page! Quite frustrating to lost 3 days worth of effort. Is there a way to maintain uploads, since the current (oddly organized) format is "1. Learn, 2. Upload, 3. Release Rights, 4. Describe, 5. Use"? If "Upload" has been completed, there's zero good reason that "Describe" should be such a data-loss hindrance!

- I don't think they were deleted by an administrator. Based on the description above, it sounds like the upload process spanned several days in this case. By default, temporary files from incomplete uploads are deleted after six hours. —LX (talk, contribs) 13:43, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

- It is excellent that you put so much effort in the explanations, geocoordinates and categories. What I suggest is to make a text document with all the descriptions for each file, geocoordinates and to find out which categories are most suitable and copy/paste the names of those categories in the text document. Uploading goes then much faster because now is it just copy/paste of the pieces of text required. Wouter (talk) 17:34, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

- Ahhh, good idea Wouter, thanks for the suggestion. And I never thought an administrator deleted them, LX; I hadn't realized that 6 hours was the time-out expiration. I was thinking that, based on how the submission process is organized, that after the "Upload" step (and after "Release Rights" step), that the images were already saved, and the "Describe" step only served to tack on additional metadata to the files, for better understanding and classification/organization. I appreciate you explaining that 6-hour time-out period, LX, as well as the uplifting encouragement ("excellent that you put so much effort...") Wouter. Thank you guys all for your help and guidance in this matter. Suggestion: Notify user of blocked IP before the upload process starts, not when it completes[edit]
I uploaded a video file using the Upload Wizard, chose a license, came up with a descriptive file name, wrote a description in two languages, dated the file, and added proper categories, only for the upload to be rejected and all the this work go to waste because users behind a proxy service apparently can't upload files. I had to disconnect from the VPN and completely reupload the file (which was a PITA since it was a video file) and rewrite and re-apply all the metadata since none of that was saved either.
If it wasn't a cat video I wouldn't have bothered reuploading and rewriting everything.
Just a suggestion: you might want to let the user know they can't save their upload if they're behind a proxy service before they've spent 15 minutes uploading and looking for categories. The current approach results in waste of bandwidth and a waste of time. -- Veikk0.ma (talk) 21:08, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

When I upload files from my iPhone is says it looks like I got them from another website. After I gave them a more meaningful name, it left a red square around them and did not give me any more errors, but also does not let me submit or move on.

Dies mag im Sinne unserer Basissprache sehr sinnvoll sein, ich selbst gebe aber nur eine englische Beschreibung ein, wenn ich auch ein englischsprachiges Publikum adressieren möchte, was sehr selten der Fall ist.
Nebenbei ein Lob: Der neue "Assistent zum Hochladen von Dateien" ist besser (Dateivorschau funktioniert jetzt auch bei mehr als drei Bildern) und schöner.

Le titre initial était incorrect[edit]
J'y avais ajouté un pense bête pour reconnaitre le fichier que je voulais charger. Je pensais que le logiciel me demanderait pas la suite le titre sous lequel il fallait le publier. D'autre part figure dans le titre un point (après le chiffre 6, c'est la façon allemande d'écrire 6ème). Est-il incorrect de mettre un point dans le titre? Dans le 2° fichier chargé ne figure plus le pense-bête.

Fails on Release Rights[edit]
I frequently experience the Upload Wizard failing at the "Release Rights" stage. After the first (Upload) stage completes and I go to the next (Release Rights) stage the image thumbnails are displayed but the text below with the "This file is my own work" check-box etc. does not display. Sometimes even when it does display properly and I click the check-box the page hangs when I click Next. Either way this means I can not proceed further. This means I have to go back to the beginning and start uploading the files ae gain. Usually it works on the next attempt - but not always. When I encounter this problem I sometimes find that the handles for the files I was trying to upload still remain locked in Windows (seems the upload wizard has not released them). When I have uploaded a file and about to finish the process, the error message states that there is already file with the same name. Wiki must permit user to change the name and continue the process. At present, the entire process is terminated. User has to begin afresh. This is not right.
"Another reason not mentioned above"[edit]
This phrasing is, of course, completely correct, but it sounds very off-putting when a newbie reads it, like saying "I dare you to choose this seemingly vague option which will probably get you in trouble somehow", which is not at all what it means. Could we rephrase it as something like, "One of the many other legitimate reasons" (the "not mentioned above" is redundant anyway, and the proposed rephrasing doesn't make it sound like you will screw yourself by selecting it). Please consider the request. I mean it wholeheartedly. Thanks!

- I agree that "not mentioned above" is redundant and could be omitted, but I disagree that the current wording is off-putting. "Another reason" is perfectly neutral. Uploading an SVG file results in a warning about not being able to create a thumbnail[edit]
When I upload an SVG file, the wizard cannot immediately create a thumbnail and complains about it. I did check my SVG file at the wmftools site, and it generated no warnings there. Indeed, when I proceeded and saved the image (after a lot of futile attempts to make the warning go away), this server had no problems rendering the SVG to PNGs of various sizes. --ChPietsch (talk) 13:27, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

Во время работы с "мастером загрузки" на русском, когда доходишь до вкладки "Авторские права", ссылка на лицензию Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 4.0 ведет на переведенную (русскоязычную) страницу. Однако если мы нажмем на "Воспользуйтесь другой лицензией", то в раскрывшихся вариантах, все ссылки ведут на английские версии. Например ссылка лицензии Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 3.0 ведет на англоязычный текст лицензии https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ в то время как есть переведенная страница https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/deed.ru. Прошу заменить все ссылки на русскоязычные лицензии (сделал бы это сам если мог, но нет доступа к редактированию). Sorting[edit]
If i upload files "Filename 0001.jpg", "Filename 0002.jpg", "Filename 0003.jpg"..... and then when i get to the next step, to fill in description and categories and stuff the files are not sorted. It would be logical to have "Filename 0001.jpg" first and then "Filename 0002.jpg" underneath and so on. It makes it so much easier for me to add descriptions in chronological order. Can this be fixed or can i sort it in some way? What makes it come up "in the wrong order"? /Hangsna (talk) 10:23, 7 August 2015 (UTC)

Hi, I got an error in filename Parkhotel Schönbrunn - entrance , no idea why, it was just refused. I suspect, there was a non-printable character inside the name (?) or it was just the space at first position in my first try. Nevertheless. Please give a hint, what character is not allowed. Otherwise it is difficult to find. And, please, allow to change the name and reupload. At the moment the process terminates with Das Hochladen aller Dateien ist fehlgeschlagen. Very frustrating[edit]
Not sure if this form is still in beta, but I tried three times to upload something and it failed. One time the upload just failed because my description was not good enough, but instead of letting me correct it, I had to do everything all over again. On the third try, when I uploaded everything correctly, on the final step it failed with an unknown error.

Merci de faire comme l'utilisateur de Commons « Rillke » du 24 janvier 2015 (https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Rillke/bigChunkedUpload.js&action=history). Il a fait une modification de son javascript qui reconnaît les événements bloqués, son script permet 250 erreurs de serveur. Donc, depuis le 25 janvier 2015, avec une connexion qui a des coupures permet d'envoyer un fichier sur Commons (avant le 24 janvier 2015 c'etait impossible d'envoyer un fichier sur Commons tout comme avec upload wizard à ce jour).

Avec une mauvaise connexion internet (coupure car connexion et déconnexion tout seul, pas internet tout le temps) c'est impossible à ce jour d'envoyer un fichier avec upload Wizard alors que ça fonctionne avec « chunk upload » . Ça favoriserait l'augmentation du nombre de vidéos envoyées sur Commons si l'on pouvait envoyer la vidéo en .mp4 sur Commons. Puis, Commons ferait automatiquement la compression, afin d'obtenir la meilleur qualité possible (un grand débit binaire pour privilégier la qualité, sachant qu'il n' y a pas de limite avec le stokage et la transmission des données) en .webm (VP9).
