Citation[edit]

External video
Questia search demonstration
  • Editors should always provide original citation information, in addition to linking a Questia article, per WP:V and WP:SAYWHEREYOUGOTIT
  • Editors should not provide bare links to non-free Questia pages
  • Editors should note "(subscription required)" in the citation, where appropriate

Examples

<ref>{{cite web|title=National implementation committee approves funds for Swami Vivekananda values' education project|url=http://www.questia.com/doc/1P3-2131107461.html#|publisher=US Fed News Service, Including US State News |accessdate=14 April 2012|date=September 2010|subscription=yes|via=[[Questia]]}}</ref>

If citing a book, optionally adding the ISBN of the cited book (found inside the Questia book, on its copyright page) increases both accessibility and verifiability for those without Questia access, who may then use the automatically-generated ISBN hyperlink. ISBNs can be included in many citation templates (including cite web), by means of the |isbn= parameter. Alternatively, as in the example below, immediately after (outside) the citation and Questia reference templates, simply type the acronym ISBN (with no punctuation) followed by one space and then the 13-digit (preferred) or 10-digit ISBN.

  1. Add your username at the bottom with #{{user8|USERNAME|Project=code}} (eg. {{user8|Example|Project=en}}). Tell us what areas you're active in and how you'll use the Questia resources. If you had an account, it expires after one year, so please reapply.
  2. Ragityman (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) Application for new access. I hope to combine Questia resources with those of HighBeam and ScotlandsPeople, to do some serious article creation, as my situation is changing, and I will soon have more time to devote to more labor-intensive projects on enWikipedia. Questia will provide information regarding ethnology, cultural anthropology, history, and particularly the history of technology. Rags (talk) 21:59, 16 July 2015 (UTC) - Yes check.svg Done

  9. Iñaki LL (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) Hi, my membership expired. I deal with Basque and Pyrenean history (contemporary, 7-9th century, 19th century), geography, and culture matters. Relevance and accuracy, I attempt to avoid dependence on Spanish language sources and get access to the information cited in article references. 10. GeneralizationsAreBad (talk · contribs · count) I work extensively in military history, and access to Questia would help me tremendously by providing me with additional quality sources to work with. I have already worked on Korean War, Battle of Kursk, and Operation Barbarossa, and have promoted the latter two to GA. I would also be able to branch out further into areas such as political science, general history, and counter-terrorism. Thanks, GABHello! 21:27, 20 August 2015 (UTC) - Yes check.svg Done

  16. Cerevisae (talk · contribs) I have been a Wikipedia editor for 6 years with over 3000 edits. My major areas of edits would include political and socio-economic conditions in Malaysia and Sarawak. Such books and journal archive would definitely benefit me in researching about Malaysia and Sarawak in the 1970s and 1980s or even in the 1900s before the formation of Malaysia.Cerevisae (talk) 23:04, 22 September 2015 (UTC) - Yes check.svg Done

ChrisGualtieri Thank you for doing this. Now that I've used the code and gotten on the site, I did not fill it out and do not wish to continue. The information required to register is way, way too invasive of privacy just to have access to references. Thanks, anyway. But I'm passing this back. — Maile (talk) 21:58, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
  18. 24. MRG90 (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) My account is expired and I'd like to renew it. I have been an active user on Persian Wikipedia since 2011. I create and improve articles related to art and literature. I am also active in DYK project on Persian Wikipedia (see my 2015 activity here). I received access to questia last year via The Wikipedia Library. Questia has been a very useful website for me and I have used it frequently (see some of the articles which I have created by using questia: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ...). 28. Donner60 (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) My previous account renewal expires December 8 (rather than December 7 as I first wrote). I am requesting renewal. I have used Questia in the past for creating, editing or expanding mainly History and Biography articles. It is a very good resource in those areas. I intend to continue to use it for content creation or editing in those area, which I have in preparation or plan to work on in the coming year. I also have used Questia to find references for some articles with citation needed tags and occasionally to check a recent addition to an article that I think either needs a citation which I can quickly find or may be of dubious validity. Thanks. Donner60 (talk) 23:46, 7 December 2015 (UTC)
