They attempted to mend old wounds, as Taylor Swift presented Kanye West with the Video Vanguard award at Sunday's MTV VMAs in Los Angeles.

And it appears the Gold Digger hitmaker's efforts to make it up to the singer weren't enough in his mind.

The 38-year-old sent Taylor, 25, an unforgettable gift of white flowers on Friday, which she seemed pretty impressed with.

'Awwww Kanye sent me the coolest flowers!! #KanTay2020 #BFFs,' the Bad Blood crooner wrote on Instagram with a picture of herself in front of the white floral arrangement.

The gigantic bouquet looked strikingly similar to the 20ft wall of white flowers the song artist had gifted his wife Kim Kardashian at their 2014 wedding in Florence, Italy.

In the image, TSwift is showing off her lean legs and taut tummy in a long-sleeved grey crop top and tiny deep purple shorts.

On Sunday, Kanye ended his acceptance speech by saying, 'I have decided in 2020 to run for President.'

It was six years ago that Taylor's big moment at the MTV Video Music Awards was famously ruined by Kanye.

And as Taylor strutted back onto the VMAs stage on Sunday night for the 2015 ceremony, she couldn't resist a joke about that stage invasion.

The singer was presenting Kanye with the Video Vanguard award and while she gave the superstar a gushing introduction she also had the crowd, and the man himself, laughing as she reminisced about their previous encounter on the VMAs stage.

Back in 2009, Kanye famously rushed the stage when Taylor accepted her award for Video Of The Year, claiming that his friend Beyonce was a more worthy recipient.

As she told the audience why Kanye was worthy of the 2015 lifetime achievement Moonman on Sunday, Taylor turned the tables by using his famous 2009 line.

'I'm really happy for you and Imma let you finish, but Kanye had one of the greatest careers of all time,' she quipped, after explaining: 'I first met Kanye West six years ago at this show, actually.'

'I became friends with Jay Z, and I think it was important, for Jay Z, for Kanye and I to get along ... And then Kanye and I both reached a place where he would say really nice things about my music and what I've accomplished, and I could ask him how his kid's doing.'

Kanye also took some time to talk about awards in his speech on Sunday, saying; 'I still dont understand awards shows. I dont understand how they get five people who worked their entire life, one sold records, sold concert tickets, to stand on a carpet, and for the first time in their life to be judged on a chopping block, and have the opportunity to be considered a loser!'

As for the end of his speech, Kanye simply said; 'As you probably could've guessed by this moment, I have decided, in 2020, to run for president.'

While he did his best to apologise to Taylor during his speech, just before hitting the stage, Kanye showed his lighter side as he was spotted by fans pretending to nap on Kim's arm during Taylor's Best Female Video winner's speech.
