The legendary performer's comments come after his old friend and fellow West Coast stalwart Snoop Dogg engaged in an online feud with Iggy, criticising her looks and her talents.

He wasn't the only one to try and star some beef with the Mullumbimby beauty with Nicki Minaj looking as if she was throwing some shade Iggy's way with her BET Awards Best Female Hip-Hop Artist acceptance speech earlier this year.

'What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it,' she said but later denied this was in reference to the Black Widow singer.

But Ice Cube told Daily Mail Australia that it shouldn't matter either way because her tunes are on fire.

'If she can be hot coming out of the speaker, who cares what it took to make it.

'It's a difference between a rapper and an MC. Some MCs are battle rappers and they need to write their own lyrics but if you are just rapping out there, songs by committee have been the history of music.

'Every great song that you hear has probably been put together by a few people, not just one soul,' he added.

While his son O'Shea, who steps into his father's shoes and takes on his character in the hit film, also seems to be firm fan but because of Iggy's basketballer fiancé, Nick Young.

'And she's dating a Laker so…' he laughed.

Iggy and Snoops's social media clash began when the Gin & Juice rapper shared a picture of a blonde, long haired male last with the caption: 'Iggy Azalea no makeup.'

His gesture came a few days after she was spotted sporting minimal makeup after she arrived at LAX airport.

After Snoop initially blasted her online, the Black Widow hitmaker used Twitter to voice her displeasure at the comments, saying: 'Why would you post such a mean pic on insta when you send your body guards to ask me for pictures every time we are at shows?'

She then added: 'I'm disappointed you'd be such an a** for no reason.'

Escalating things even further, on Tuesday Snoop continued to lash out at the female rapper in another short video by saying: 'Say, b****, you're f****** with the wrong n****, and your n**** better check you before I do.'

After several days of nasty name-calling by Snoop, the veteran rapper finally apologised for his vitriol by posting a video voicing his regrets for the childish antics.

The blonde beauty graciously accepted the gesture, tweeting back: 'I appreciate the apology @snoopdogg'.
