Transcontinental country
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A transcontinental country is a nation that is in more than one continent. Examples:
- Asia and Europe
Most of the other examples are contentious, based on the possession of small islands in another region. For example, Spain controlling the Canary Islands. A few are undoubtedly intercontinental:
- Asia and Australasia
- Indonesia, controlling large islands in Australasia (Oceania)
- North America and Oceania
- United States, because Hawaii is a state.
