She's as well known for her stunning singing voice as for her wild hair styles.

And Chaka Khan didn't disappoint when she arrived at the practice studio in Hollywood ready to learn some moves for Season 21 of Dancing With The Stars on Saturday.

The shapely 62-year-old pulled her dyed ruby red curls into a messy updo, with stray tendrils falling around her face.

The I Feel For You singer rocked a black dance dress with a skin-tight top that showed off her generous assets and a full skirt hitched up to the waist to give her plenty of room to move.

Chaka teamed it with black tights and leg warmers plus black leather shoes.

She protected her eyes from the bright sunlight with a large pair of shades and appeared to be wearing very little make-up aside from some lipstick that matched the colour of her hair.

The singer, who is partnered with hunky Keo Motsepe, a 25-year-old South African Latin and ballroom dancer, smiled as she walked into the studio.

Australian nature TV star Bindi Irwin, the daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, waved as she was driven into the studio car park by her mother, Terri.

The 17-year-old has been teaching her pro partner Derek Hough, 30, some Aussie slang while he teaches her some new moves on the dance floor.

The other stars set to join Chaka on the show include Real Housewives of Atlanta vet Kim Zolciak, 37: former Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter, 35; celebrity chef Paula Deen, 68; singer-songwriter and reality TV star Tamar Braxton, 38; Alexa's actor singer husband Carlos Penavega, 26; singer-producer Andy Grammer, 31; YouTube sensation Hayese Grier, 15; jockey Victor Espinoza, 43; and actor Gary Busey, 71.

Also lined up for the show is hero Alek Skarlatos, the Army National Guard Specialist from Sacramento who, with friends Spencer Stone and Anthony Sadler, overpowered a man that opened fire on a train from Amsterdam to Paris.

ABC's hit dance competition will kick off on September 14.
