Housing
Good accommodation of international standard is available in Bamenda, Douala, Garoua, Maroua and Yaoundé. Cheaper accommodation, catering principally for local travellers, is available in every town. Rates quoted by hotels and lodges are generally for the room rather than per person.
Tourists can also rent a flat or a house, but you will more be likely to have the information by the word of mouth, rather than with an estate agency (hardly present in the country). Here is a link for all the hotels in the country http://www.camerounhotel.com/

Health
A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required of all travelers over one year of age
. There are a number of district and private hospitals in Cameroon, although health facilities are not recommended to foreign travelers. Sanitation levels are low, even in the best hospitals and clinics. Facilities outside Yaoundé and Douala are extremely limited. International travelers are strongly advised to take out full medical insurance before departure.

Money
ATMs are rare, but you can find some in Douala and Yaounde city centres. For your shopping or other financial operations, you will have to change your money to get CFA francs.

Transportation
Public transports are very common and organized. You can also take a cab would be safer and avoid you getting lost.

Phoning
There are several mobile phone companies that operate in the country, it will be easier for you to get a phone adapted to local network, rather than keeping your contract there.
