'Sex like a pair of maddened wart-hogs': Dr Strangelove screenwriter Terry Southern reveals all in lost letter about Ryan O'Neal and Bianca Jagger's torrid love affair

The Seventies was known as the time of free love.

And it appears that when it came to Bianca Jagger's relationship with Rolling Stone Mick, there was plenty of it while they were married.

According to a letter which has recently been discovered written by Dr. Strangelove screenwriter Terry Southern, the Nicaraguan beauty had a torrid love affair with actor Ryan O'Neal while she was with the Rocks Off singer.

The Easy Rider writer gave a detailed description of walking in the pair while they were in flagrante to Stanley Kubrick in correspondence he penned on September 30, 1973.

According to  he wrote: 'My dear Stan, I had the pleasure of meeting R. O'Neal while we were both guests in the home of rock-star Mick Jagger...and his charming wife, Bianca — to whom, unless I am very much mistaken, young O'Neal was putting his stout wood in a most forceful manner.'

The satirist added: 'In fact, Stan, I would be less than candid if I failed to mention how I walked into the room one afternoon to find them going at it like a pair of maddened wart-hogs.'

Terry did congratulate Stanley on casting Ryan in Barry Lyndon, his adaptation of the 1944 novel by William Makepeace Thackeray.

But it was not without mentioning: 'O'Neal's coarse animal member [working] with such tumultuous abandon as to literally smash the darling girl against the sideboard at the very mo[ment] when yrs tly was pouring himself a short one!'

The act took place at the Rolling Stones singer's London home and details have never been published before.

The intimate interaction was discovered in Terry's archives by Man of the World magazine and will now be published in its issue that releases on September 15.

However the news doesn't come as too much of a shock, as Nicaraguan-born Bianca previously mentioned having an 'off and on' two-year fling with actor Ryan during a 1977 interview withPeople magazine.

'Mick screws many, but has few affairs,' the human rights advocate and former actress added about her then-husband.

'Groupies weren't an easy thing to get used to.'

Bianca and Mick were married from 1971 to 1979 and have a 43-year-old daughter Jade Jagger together.

Ryan was married to Leigh Taylor-Young from 1967 to 1973. The two have a 47-year-old son Patrick together.

Meanwhile, Love Story favourite Ryan has not been in the best health in recent years, and back in April 2012 he revealed he had been diagnosed with stage IV prostate cancer.

Though the Bones star said it had been detected early enough to give a prognosis of full recovery.
