Dressed in a mocochrome two-piece, the star wowed onlookers in the look which comprised of a striped halter-neck top and culottes.

Adding a pair of metallic sandals to the mix, she certainly injected some glamour into her day out.

Not content with that, she also wore an over-sized pair of sunglasses and some subtle make-up for a classy finish.

Accessorising with just a cream bag across her chest, she also draped a retro-inspired denim jacket over her shoulders.

The starlet is in Venice to partake in the city's 72nd annual Film Festival, where she has been equally well-dressed.

Just 48 hours earlier she had joined Diane Kruger and Alessandra Ambrosio for the Everest premiere on Wednesday evening, where she dazzled in a white gown.

Take it to a new level of fab in taupe

Elizabeth Banks definitely knew how to make a statement at the Venice Film Festival with her Dolce & Gabbana white jewel embellished gown but the talent didn't stop the glam just because her trip came to an end!

Liz wore a print black tank along with a black maxi skirt and silver sandals. We love the way she added a retro vibe to the look by pairing it with black cateye shades and a taupe crossbody bag!

Lets be honest, taupe is the kind of color that can be worn year around, whether you sport it with a summer dress like Liz or integrate it into your fall attire, you'll be fashion forward either way.

The crossbody that she's donning is by Mansur Gavriel and although the exact Fall 2015 bag isn't available, you can still head over to MatchesFashion.com to snag a similar version for $595, or take a look at our edit below for similar taupe finds!

The festival runs until 12 September this year and will review such films as Everest and The Danish Girl.

The competition will feature 21 films, including hotly-anticipated roles by Johnny Depp, Eddie Redmayne, Keira Knightley, Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult.

It is part of the city's much-loved Biennale, which was founded by the Venetian City Council in 1895.
