Call The Midwife's Jessica Raine weds Mr Selfridge beau Tom Goodman-Hill... TWO weeks after engagement news broke

Call The Midwife's Jessica Raine and Mr Selfridge's Tom Goodman-Hill have wed two weeks after news of their engagement hit the headlines.

Tom, 47, took to Twitter to say he 'couldn't be happier' as he shared the first pictures of their elegant London nuptials.

Jessica, 32, is seen wearing a vintage-style short ivory dress as she's lead through the streets by her new husband, who is dapper in a charcoal suit and a red tie.

Both pictures, one with a brown hue and another in black and white, add a dated affect to the couple's wedding day pictures, perhaps a tribute to the retro acting parts that made their names.

The secret ceremony gathered a small number of guests, which included some famous faces like David Walliams, Amanda Abbington and Martin Freeman.

Jessica and Tom first met in 2010 when they co-starred in a play.

In it, Goodman-Hill played a troubled husband going through a mid-life crisis as his marriage falls apart, and she was the young seductress trying to lure him away from his wife.

Just months later, Goodman-Hill shocked friends and family by walking out on his wife and two teenage children so he could start a relationship with Miss Raine, 14 years his junior.

News of their engagement comes despite Rada graduate Miss Raine, 33, previously saying she had no interest in getting married.

Last year, she said she felt ‘very safe and secure’ in her relationship with Goodman-Hill, though she admitted there were also tensions.

She said cryptically: ‘There are other people involved who aren’t in this industry, so I can’t talk about them. Lovely, lovely people, but I can’t talk about it.’

And before that she said: ‘I am not interested in getting married. We live together and that’s fine.’

The TV couple have been busy with separate projects in recent months, with Jessica, who played the prim Jenny Lee in BBC's Call The Midwife, starring in an adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Partners In Crime alongside David Walliams, which started on BBC2 last month.

Tom meanwhile has followed up his role as middle-aged adulterer Roger Grove in Mr Selfridge, with a part in hit Channel 4 drama Humans, playing Joe Hawkins.
