So it only makes sense for Cody Simpson's younger sister Alli to be next in line to join Taylor Swift's ultimate squad of girl pals.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia while in Sydney, 17-year-old singer, actress and radio host Alli said 'it would totally be cool' to befriend 25-year-old chart-topper Taylor, who recently enlisted her string of famous female friends to star in her Bad Blood music video.

'For sure, yeah. I think it would totally be cool,' Alli told DMA when quizzed about the possibility of joining the squad if the opportunity arose.

'Those girls have so much fun and I've seen glimpses of it by being around Selena and Gigi,' she continued.

'They're just like the most fun girls and they just like to genuinely be around each other and have a great time.'

Having met Taylor herself 'once or twice', bubbly blonde Alli revealed, 'I remember one time she like complemented on my eyeliner and I freaked out'.

The Radio Disney host also hopes to interview the Shake It Off hitmaker for her show soon.

'For the brief amount of time I've had a conversation with her, it's been really fun,' she said.

'She's just super high energy and I think to sort of like interview her and ask her my questions would be really fun.'

Taylor has recently come under fire for her Wildest Dreams music video, the clip attracting criticism for the scarcity of black people in the mini-film and its romanticised portrayal of the continent.

Coming to Taylor's defence in regards to accusations of racism, Alli told DMA: 'Taylor Swift is like the most genuine girl and she just loves everybody for who they are and I don't think she would ever have that thought'.

'She wouldn't even think about that. It's just a video and as if that would even cross her mind,' she continued, adding, 'I think people just constantly try and find things' to bring celebrities like Taylor down.'

Wildest Dreams, a love story filmed against a backdrop of giraffes, lions, waterfalls and stunning sunsets, has been viewed more than 15 million times since it was released on Monday to accompany the American pop superstar's latest single.

Although Taylor is donating all proceeds to the African Parks Foundation of America, critics have seized on the video as portraying a stereotyped colonial-era view of Africa.

The video was shot in California, Botswana and South Africa, and there are only two black actors, who play soldiers, and they appear in the background. The mock film crew are white.

The story is of two 1950s-era movie stars - played by Swift and Gran Torino actor Scott Eastwood - filming on location in Africa

The video's director Joseph Kahn said in a statement this week: 'There is no political agenda in the video. Our only goal was to tell a tragic love story in classic Hollywood iconography'.

Meanwhile Alli is of course close friends with some of Taylor's pals, most notably Gigi Hadid, who recently split with Alli's older brother Cody Simpson in May.

'It was like a breakup with the family because she (Gigi) would always hang out with us and take Tom (Alli and Cody's younger brother) to sushi or me and her would have girl days,' Alli revealed.

'Gigi is like a big sister to me so I’m grateful she’s still in our lives and she will constantly call mum and be like "Hey, what’s going on? How are you guys?" She’s a beautiful soul,' the singer and actress added.

And when asked if she would consider dating Joe's younger brother Nick, 21, Alli told DMA: 'Of course, he’s a babe'.

'Nick Jonas is my celebrity crush since I was so young so when they were like "Nick’s going to come into your show", I was like "Oh my what do I do?",' the Radio Disney presenter admitted.

'I remember the first time I met him I freaked out and pretty much cried,' she added, revealing her first encounter with the Levels singer was when she and her family first relocated to LA when around six years ago.

Shedding some light on the Hollywood love web and the Bad Blood girls squad dating each other's exes, Alli told DMA: 'We’re all like the same circle of people who go to events together and go to parties together and so you end up sort of just being around these people a lot and that’s just sort of how it happens'.
