Jay Z took over daddy duties on Friday as wife Beyonce celebrated her 34th birthday.

The rapper was spotted heading to a restaurant in Philadelphia with the couple's three-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, who appeared to be full of beans ahead of the festivities.

Jay, 45, kept a close eye on his little girl wearing a camouflage print t-shirt, jeans and his trademark Timberland boots.

Blue meanwhile looked stylish in a black romper with chic white cape and matching pumps.

The tot ran ahead of dad as the duo made their way into the east coast eatery.

Beyonce's friends and family dedicated songs to the singer in honor of her birthday which were shared on the pop diva's website

Her devoted husband chose Coldplay's hit Yellow and explained 'This song reminds me of you and I on vacation. "Look at the stars, look how they shine for you." So many legendary nights.

Meanwhile Jay Z has some ongoing legal issues which made headlines this week when it was revealed he has asked that a jury not be privy to his criminal record or wealth.

The musician is currently battling a lawsuit where he is being accused by the heir of an Egyptian musician of stealing a flute sample for his 1999 track Big Pimpin'.

Lawyers for the plaintiff say that Jay Z stole the tune and therefore his criminal past is relevant to the case, TMZ reported.

Beyonce will be headlining the Made In America festival in Philadelphia on Saturday.

Dare to bare like Beyonce in a glittering Givenchy gown

As Queen Bey, she's always on the precipice of fashion's cliff of being too out there and right on fleek. She reigned at the Met Gala with a barely there Givenchy sheer gown.

There's no question that creative director Riccardo Tisci designed this just for her as all those painstakingly hand-placed jewels just covered all the right parts of Beyonce's banging body.

While outside of the Met Gala and maybe a seedy strip club, this would never be an appropriate dress for us mortals to wear, the takeaway of this dress is that sheer is a must-have trend.

If you're feeling brave then check out the dresses we've found below that will give you a Beyonce-inspired look. Splash some serious cash on MacDuggal's super similarly sheer number or take it boho with ASOS.
