SPOILER ALERT: Max Turner in road accident scare as he tries to escape vicious father Callum in dramatic Coronation Street episode

He is fast becoming one of Coronation Street's most notorious villains.

And it looks like Callum Logan, played by actor Sean Ward, might just take the trophy in an upcoming episode of the soap as he accidentally shepherds son Max Turner in front of a moving car.

The drama unfolds when the bitter drug dealer slips into the home that his arch rival David Platt's shares with wife Kylie and begins to harass his ex, with whom he shares their nine-year-old son.

Heckling his former flame, Gail McIntyre quickly sees red and chases him out of the house.

Spotting the commotion, David (Jack P. Shepherd) hurries over to the scene and brawls with the bad boy.

Angered by the trouble his father is causing, Max screams at Callum that he hates him.

Unsurprisingly, the comment doesn't go down well with his vicious dad who proceeds to make a grab for his son.

In a bid to escape Callum, the youngster then runs into the road, unaware that David's elder half-brother Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) is speeding along.

Spotting Max, Nick quickly slams on the breaks, though viewers will have to tune in to the episode to see if he makes it unscathed.

The Platt family have been embroiled in more than their fair share of drama this year, not helped by the arrival of Gail's daughter Sarah-Louise, who embarked on a relationship with Callum, and her mischievous granddaughter Bethany.

Later this month, the soap will mark ITV's 60th anniversary with a live episode.

Speaking about the dramatic storyline, a Coronation Street insider told The Daily Star: 'Callum’s behaviour is going to get even darker as he continues to terrorise the Platts.

'They have no escape from him. He’s doing everything he can to make their lives a misery and little Max is at the centre of it.

'He grew to love his dad until he saw what he’s really like when he beat up Jason.'

Coronation Street's climactic scenes will air on Wednesday, 16 September on ITV at 7.30pm.
