Raining on his parade! Keanu Reeves keeps feet dry in boots he has worn to THREE events at premiere of film Knock Knock

He defeated the power of The Matrix.

So Keanu Reeves was never going to let a few raindrops dampen his premiere appearance on Saturday for his latest flick Knock Knock.

The actor, who turned 51 only three days ago, took to the red carpet at the event, which was part of the Deauville American Film Festival in France.

He was on hand to accompany director Eli Roth and co-star Lorenza Izzo to the screening.

The action hero actor wore a black crushed velvet suit and paired it with a black shirt and narrow black tie.

However he appeared to be wearing the same distressed suede boots from two functions he attended the day before, perhaps not wanting to damage another pair in the puddles.

As usual, his hair was perfectly coiffed in a slicked-back look and his salt-and-pepper facial hair was trimmed to perfection.

Director Eli Roth also looked dapper in a classic tuxedo with a black and white checkered pocket square.

Chilean bombshell Lorenza Izzo, 23, looked cheerful in a black and white gown with a silver accent over one shoulder.

Knock Knock will be the young model and actress's first big screen foray opposite an A-lister like Keanu.

The psychological thriller, slated for release on October 9th, has Keanu playing a married man who is seduced by two young women in his own home.

Things turn sinister, however, when the alluring seductresses become his captors with terrifying results.

The film will be Eli Roth's first since 2013's The Green Inferno, an adventure-horror story that took place in the Amazon rain forest.

Besides the screening, Keanu was among a host of stars that were recognised as Tributes at the film festival.

The actor was in good company as Orlando Bloom, Michael Bay, Ian McKellen, Patricia Clarkson, Terrence Malick, the late Orson Welles, and Lawrence Bender were all named Tributes as well.

Keanu did not fail to live up to the expectations of the assembled crowd, who enthusiastically waited for the star behind barricades.

The Speed star made pleasant conversation with the fans, many of whom were armed with cameras and photographs for him to sign.
