The perfect leading lady: Princess Charlene dazzles in Dior as she and husband Prince Albert honour acting icon Robert Redford at Monaco gala

  • Princess Charlene stunned in floor-length dress with red embellishments
  • The 37-year-old accompanied Prince Albert to Princess Grace Awards
  • Mother-of-two finished the look with red lipstick and pink diamond jewels

She's one of the world's most glamorous royals but Charlene, Princess of Monaco, looked like the perfect leading lady at a gala to award artistic talent.

The 37-year-old wowed in a striking, floor-length gown by Christian Dior Couture at the annual Princess Grace Awards on Saturday.

Accompanied by her dapper-looking husband Prince Albert, 57, the pair were on hand to present an accolade to acting legend Robert Redford.

The awards - which were presented by sponsor Christian Dior Couture at Monaco Palace in Monte Carlo - reward emerging talent in theatre, dance and film through scholarships, apprenticeships and fellowships.

Our fascination with the women of royal families shows no sign of abating.

But while the Duchess of Cambridge spends private time with her young family we're turning to the aristocrats of Europe for our fix of truly high end fashion. Spain has Queen Letizia and of course Monaco has Princess Charlene.

And last night didn't she do us proud? The South African born former Olympic swimmer looked stunning in a fabulous gown at the Princess Grace Awards that was certainly fit for a queen.

From Christian Dior's AW15 Couture collection it features dense sequin embellishment, a high neck and short sleeves. It's simple but beautiful and the perfect choice for the tall and slender Charlene.
