Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult were rumoured to be a romantic item over a year ago.

The co-stars were certainly starry-eyed while cosying up together at the red carpet premiere of their futuristic love story Equals at the Venice Film Festival on Saturday.

Kristen, 25, leaned into the tall and strapping British actor while posing in front of the crowd of fans gathered at one of Italy's most illustrious celebrity events.

Kristen looked glamorous beyond words in a shimmery silver lace and satin gown that showed off her trim shins in front and dropped down in the back.

Shining silver pumps and a dramatic updo added to the effect, while vampish red lipstick brightened her pale and lovely complexion.

Their appearance at the Venice Film Festival - which runs through September 12 - came after they were reportedly seen 'cosying up' at a film bash in New York in October 2014.

According to Page Six, the two 'stuck together' all night during a Cinema Society event for Kristen's film Clouds Of Sils Maria, which was held at Omar's in New York City.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past star Nicholas was in a relationship with Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence for three years until they split last year.

Meanwhile, Kristen and her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson called it quits in 2013 after four years of dating.

Equals, meanwhile, is a dystopian remake of George Orwell's 1984 - it has yet to confirm a UK release date following its premiere at the Venice Film Festival on Saturday.
