Zamora hope for QPR as forward plays through pain barrier to help Hoops beat the drop

Bobby Zamora will postpone hip surgery until the end of the season to help Queens Park Rangers survive in the Premier League.

Despite undergoing a hip operation in November, it is looking inevitable Zamora will need another procedure to cure the problem on a long-term basis.

But the former Fulham centre-forward will play through the pain barrier to help QPR’s bid to stay in the Premier League.

Manager Harry Redknapp confirmed: ‘Bobby will probably need an operation. The aim is to keep him going for the last 12 games of the season because he is that important us.

‘If he has it now, he’ll be out for the rest of the season and we don’t want to do that.’
