Enjoying some 'me time'! Hilary Duff wears bright red scarf and stocks up on reading material as she visits hairdressers in West Hollywood

Hilary Duff stocked up on reading material for a trip to the hairdressers.

The Younger star, 27, was seen holding a fashion magazine and a novel after getting her hair done in West Hollywood on Saturday.

The singer was dressed down in black skinny jeans and sneakers, adding a fringed red scarf for a pop of color.

The fresh-faced blonde went make-up free and was all smiles after taking some 'me time' at the salon.

She appeared to have had extensions put in, with her blonde hair appearing noticeably longer than in recent photographs. 

Since it can take hours to get extensions, the singer came prepared with plenty to read as she updated her look for fall.

The Sparks singer held a thick September issue of a fashion magazine as she exited the salon, as well as bestselling mystery novel Girl On A Train. She stayed hydrated with a bottle of water.

In addition to her red scarf, Duff accessorized with two bags - throwing a black leather handbag over one shoulder, and balancing a Louis Vuitton bag with her reading material. 

She added geometric-patterned Chuck Taylor Converse high-topes and a casual grey Tshirt to complete her casual look.

The former child star is mother to three-year-old son Luca, who she had with ex-husband Mike Combrie.

The couple split in January, 2014 after four years of marriage.

Hilary has recently been spotted out on what appeared to be a date with her personal trainer Jason Walsh. 

The former Lizzie McGuire actress has been busy with her career, starring in TV Land sitcom Younger, which was renewed for a second season.

She also launched her fifth album 'Breath In. Breath Out.' in June.
