In a video posted online, he said: 'I woke up before the show the other day and I had a pain in my foot. Then I went to get an X-ray today and I’ve got a fractured right foot and I don’t know how.'

On Sunday, he posted a snap to Instagram of his socked foot, with the boot cast on one side.

He captioned the shot: 'Boot off chilling.'

Ouch! The boybander's foot was in a surgical boot, but that didn't stop him putting in another winning performance

The news will certainly not please the Night Changes hit-maker as he has been making good progress recovering from his knee surgery in January 2014.

In July this year, he shared his success with fans on Instagram, writing: "First time I've been able to touch my arse with my heel since I got the operation. Sounds so dumb, but it's a big day in my head haahah! (sic)"

The accident-prone pop star should have a reduced risk of injury, as he admits he's not the daring type.

He said: 'I'm not very daring, I'm all about a gentle game of golf. I'm actually quite boring and probably the worst pop star that ever walked the planet.'

The band have been beset by clumsiness during their tour.

Harry Styles has fallen over twice on stage and last week suffered another painful mishap when a fan threw a can of Red Bull which hit the superstar in the face.

The 21-year-old and his bandmates were in the middle of their final thank-yous as they closed out the show, when Harry was struck, with the singer seen doubled over in pain.

The band, who announced last week they were taking an indefinite break as of March 2016, found out last week that they've bagged six Guinness World Records in their five years as a band.

The accolades include the record for the most followers on Twitter for a music group; 23,393,106 - and that eye-watering figure was only taken from the official One Direction group account (which has now topped 24 million), without considering their individual followers, a figure which clocks in at nearly 90 million.

Their other achievements include the 'Most popular dance game track', for their song What Makes You Beautiful on Just Dance 4, which has earned them 36,817,975 views.

They also nabbed the record for the most subscribers for a band on YouTube (36,817,975 views) and the first group to debut at No.1 with their first four albums in the USA, with Up All Night, Take Me Home, Midnight Memories and Four.

One Direction are also the first UK group to debut at No.1 in the USA with their debut album, and they've achieved the record for the highest debut by a UK group on the US singles chart (they reached No.3 with Live While We’re Young).
