She may be approaching her mid fifties, but it seems age is nothing but a number for Julianne Moore.

On Tuesday, the Oscar-winning actress was seen in New York looking far younger than her 54-years, in a chic leather jacket and aviator shades.

Julianne showed off her trim figure in a pair of tight-fitting black jeans and a loose-fitting grey sweater.

Interestingly, earlier this month Julianne revealed that she doesn't eat when she gets nervous.

For all the success the 54-year-old star has seen in her career, her constant slender figure makes total sense.

Recently winning the Best Actress Oscar for her role in Still Alice at this year's Academy Awards, the habit of maintaining a healthy diet was accompanied by losing her appetite before her red carpet appearance.

'We'd all be lying if we said we aren't watching what we eat. Of course we are! I think we're also really stressed. I'm not a stress eater. I get nervous and I don't eat.' the fiery star said. 

'But, you know, I had a dress on the other day, and I said to my manager, 'When you see my back fat sticking out, tuck it back in! Be a friend!''

Although it's hard to imagine Moore with any type of extra flab on her back, the Emmy Award winner was very open and honest about adapting her style to match her natural image with current fashion.

As the mother to 17-year-old son Caleb and 12-year-old daughter Liv, the timeless beauty expressed the desire to trade her casual clothing for more stylish attire as her kids continue getting older. 

'My style has gotten better, hopefully. It's like everything: practice makes perfect,' the actress explained. 

'There was one year when my kids were little, and every time I was photographed, I was wearing a pair of cargo shorts, a T-shirt and a bandanna. It was so bad, my publicist was like, 'Get it together!'' 

Defying the norms of the Hollywood industry, Moore acknowledged her age while talking about refusing to show her manicure at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, insisting she was too old to do so. 

In the April Issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine she said, 'I'm 54 years old. I can't make my fingers walk; it's humiliating! A guy asked me to lift up my skirt to show them my shoes, and I said, 'I don't need to do that. Let's keep some dignity.'
