She may be a Brit, but after years of flitting between her homes in the UK and Los Angeles, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has got her California girl style spot on.

The English actress and model dressed for the Malibu heat in a pair of tiny denim shorts as she enjoyed a lunch date with her long-term beau Jason Statham on Sunday.

Rosie added a pair of shades to her casual weekend ensemble, as the couple emerged from the eatery.

The blonde beauty looked gorgeous in her laid-back look, tucking a grey vest into her denim cut-offs.

Rosie added a touch of glam with her statement necklace and a glitzy belt, while she finished off her look with a pair of shades and left her short blonde hair loose.

Jason matched his gorgeous girl's casual style in a pair of shorts and a polo neck shirt, adding shades and trainers as he led the way out of the Malibu restaurant.

Prolonging summer: The couple both sported shades as they headed to their car after a relaxed meal

It's been a jet-set summer for Rosie and Jason, who headed back to the UK in July for the wedding of their close friends Guy Ritchie and Jacqui Ainsley.

A week later and the couple were spotted in Miami, with Rosie sharing a photo of their luxe ride, a private jet, before they headed off on an island getaway.

And last week the travelling continued as Rosie littered her Instagram page with some stunning snaps from Marrakech.

The couple have been making the most of some time off together, before Jason starts work on some new movie projects.

The action man will star in Mechanic: Resurrection, the sequel to his 2011 film The Mechanic.

Jessica Alba and Tommy Lee Jones also star in the film which has wrapped shooting in far-flung destinations such as Bangkok, ahead of a 2016 release date.

He's also set to reprise his role as Deckard Shaw in the eighth movie in the box office smash hit Fast & Furious franchise, with filming due to commence in the coming months.

Rosie recently has tried her hand at acting, adding to her career as one of the world's highest paid models with roles in Transformers: Dark Of The Moon and this year's Mad Max: Fury Road.

But despite parts in major blockbusters, the Devon-born star has insisted that she is not an actress and currently has no plans to do any more films, telling Harpers Bazaar last month: Will I do another movie? I don’t know. It’s not something I’m actively pursuing or have a lot of headspace for at this time.

'Which was always my attitude with Transformers and Mad Max, you know. I never set out to be an actress. I was in the right place at the right time; I was asked to do an audition and then doors opened.'

'I think you’re really lucky to get asked to do something new, and to be paid to do it, so I jumped at both opportunities. But I definitely would not call myself an actress.'
