Haven't you forgotten something? Rosario Dawson wears shoes WITHOUT laces as she steps out in seasonal ensemble

Her wardrobe often generates more of a buzz than her movie career, but Rosario Dawson divided onlookers with her latest style statement during an outing in New York City on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old actress caught the eye in a noughts and crosses print winter coat as she made her way through downtown Manhattan with a female pal.

But it was her smart black shoes that dominated an otherwise conventional ensemble, largely due to their absence of laces.

The decision to step out unlaced gave Rosario’s outfit a casual flourish, one she matched with the black leather handbag that hung from her left shoulder.

In high spirits, Rosario offered onlookers a warm smile as she idled on the sidewalk while her pal took a call on her mobile phone.

But while she oozes confidence, the stunning actress admits she was less outgoing during her childhood.

‘I was an awkward teenager I went stag to my prom. I was a virgin until I was 20 years old!’ she told Cosmo For Latinas’ Fall 2014 issue.

‘My mother was raising five kids on her own, I wasn't just going to sit back and be a horny teenager and continue some cycle of teenage pregnancy – I wanted more opportunities."’

The actress, a native New Yorker, was recently back on the big screen in Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For, reprising her role as dominatrix Gail.

It was recently announced that Rosario will voice the role of Wonder Woman in the upcoming animated movie Justice League: Throne Of Atlantis, according to TV Guide.

The beauty replaces Michelle Monaghan who initially had the role and will be joined by Jerry Maguire star Jerry O'Connell as the voice of Superman.

Rosario previously voiced the character of Artemis in the 2009 direct-to-DVD Wonder Woman animated film.

Justice League: Throne Of Atlantis will be out on streaming services in early 2015.
