Stepping out of the shade! Dakota Johnson turns heads in striking embellished dress as she steps out at CFDA fashion fundraiser
She’s braced for a busy 2015 as the Valentine’s Day release of her eagerly anticipated new film draws closer, but Dakota Johnson put career commitments to one side during an appearance at an LA fundraiser.
The actress daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson caught the eye as she sashayed into legendary Hollywood venue Chateau Marmont for the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund event on Tuesday.
Indeed, Dakota, 25, looked stunning in a striking semi-sheer dress with highly distinctive floral embellishment during a memorable appearance at the soiree, which showcased fashion lines from five promising young designers.

The actress added to an already bold look with a pair of strappy gold heels, while a matching handbag and Wayfarer sunglasses rounded things off.
Dakota was joined at the even by a host of stars – amongst them Glee actress Dianna Agron, whose own floral print dress drew attention courtesy of its garish pink and white colour palette.
CFDA President Diana Von Furstenberg was also in attendance, opting for a thigh-skimming silver dress with off-the-shoulder detail.

The CFDA, a non-profit organisation, was founded in 1962 to highlight the achievements of industry luminaries.
Each year the organisation, in conjunction with the Westfield World Trade Centre, commits itself to supporting young designers, with the Chateau Marmont show giving them an opportunity to showcase their creations.
A winner and two finalists will be selected in New York City on November 3.

Referring to the event, CFDA CEO Steven Kolb said: ‘We are proud of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund for the impact it has had on a new generation of talent.
‘The mentoring and business grants associated with the program have inspired other groups and companies to create similar programs, all of which work to promote and support these emerging designers.’
Meanwhile attendee Dakota is looking ahead to the Valentine’s Day release of 50 Shades Of Grey – in which she plays central character Anastasia Steele alongside British actor Jamie Dornan’s Christian Grey.
