The end of summer might be nigh in Los Angeles but Sharni Vinson is determined to see it out properly.

The 32-year-old Australian actress headed to VO|CO, a vodka and coconut water cocktail company's closing pool party, hosted by Victoria's Secret's Alessandra Ambrosio on Saturday.

Plumping for a bohemian vibe, the U.S-living star dressed her slender frame in a patterned mini dress with a low V-neck which she tied at the middle with a rope-detail belt.

Revealing a glimpse of a bikini top underneath, she layered a sleeveless, fringed cardigan over the top of her dress for a busy look, topping off her summer wares with a woven sunhat.

Looking very pleased with herself the smiling Step Up actress, added her piece du resistance - a pair of retro sunglasses with contrasting tortoiseshell and white frames.

Ready to party the former Home And Away starlet mingled with a slew of celebrities at the infamous SkyBar at the Mondrian Hotel, with Teen Wolf's hunky Cody Saintgnue, 22, also in attendance.

The Cronulla-born actress left her native country in 2008, shortly after quitting Home And Away, to pursue her acting career Stateside.

Most recently she has starred alongside John Cusack, Jackie Chan and Adrien Brody in the historical action film Dragon Blade.

Thanks to the film's US$65 million budget, Dragon Blade is reportedly the most expensive Chinese-language film ever made.

The film, which is set to hit US cinemas in October 2015, received $18 million on its first day of release in Asia.

On top of generating headlines for her screen work the upbeat star's slim physique has been under scrutiny since as far back as 2012.

Facing comments on social media about her figure, the star recently hit back saying: 'I've always been a very naturally slim girl. If I was the way I was perceived, I would not physically be able to do what I do.'

Describing how she keeps her figure ready for stunt-heavy roles, she recently told OK! magazine: 'I've had to eat more muscle-building foods - high-protein and bigger portions as well.'
