The Devil Wears Prada star is scheduled for a Q&A on Saturday, but her co-star who plays a convincing lead role in the film, Carey Mulligan will continue to be a no show for good reason.

Carey, 30, who portrays Maude Watts, is currently expecting her first child with her husband Marcus Mumford.

'Never surrender, never give up the fight,' Streep tells Mulligan in the inspiring first trailer of the film slated for release on October 23.

The clip packs a powerful punch as it showcases the women who acted as the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement, being forced underground to fight back against an increasingly brutal State.

This film is likely near and dear to Meryl's heart considering her standing ovation during Patricia Arquette's speech about wage equality at the 2015 Academy Award ceremony.
