Heavens above! Former Victoria's Secret Angel Miranda Kerr strikes a busty pose as she models for Cosmopolitan Australia

With a string of lucrative contracts and a career-defining place amongst the competitive Victoria's Secret hierarchy she is perhaps one of the world's most recognisable models.

Little wonder then, that Miranda Kerr features in a glossy photo shoot for the latest issue of Cosmopolitan Australia.

The Sydney-born star shows off her lithe figure in a series of images shot by celebrated fashion photographer Russell James - best known for his work with the likes of Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio and Naomi Campbell.

In the first, Miranda  displays her cleavage in highly revealing black swimwear as she sits before a stark white backdrop, her slender legs folded in front of her.

A second image finds the 32-year-old in a playful mood while striking a pose in a backless red minidress that once again reveals plenty of flesh - primarily her toned thighs.

Offering the camera a coy smile, Miranda sports dusky eye-shadow and deep red lipstick, while her brunette locks are casually swept to the side.

Miranda soon trades vivid red for demure white in a third image by James, who captures the Australian model as she sits in a sweeping skirt and top ensemble.

Displaying her taut abs, Miranda presses on hand against her hip while staring intently at the camera.

A fourth features the model in a series of black and white montage shots, each depicting Miranda in a different pose.

Gracing the cover, Miranda can be seen casting her alluring gaze at the camera as she showed off her famous figure in a striped Bardot style bodysuit.

Wearing her brunette tresses in glamorous waves, her natural beauty highlighted with smoky eyes and bronzed cheekbones.

The mother of one once again offers a smile as she raises one hand to her mouth.

The mother-of-one, from Gunnedah in New South Wales, has previously reflected on finding it difficult growing up with her unique looks.

Speaking from her New York home in 2010 when she was pregnant with her son Flynn, now four, Kerr said she wanted her teen fans to know she 'was not always the person they see on a runway or on the cover of a magazine'.

'I wanted them to know that just like them, at times I struggled with insecurity, bullying, rejection and low self-esteem,' she told body+soul as she promoted her debut self-help book, Treasure Yourself.

'When I first started working as a model I would feel rejected if I went in for a job but was told I did not have the right look.

'It took me a while to accept that I was never going to be everything for everything for everyone.'
