That might not be the actual saying, but it certainly seems to be the case for Josh Brolin, who showed off his abs while leaving the gym with his fiancée Kathryn Boyd on Sunday.

The 47-year-old seemed to have coordinated his look with Kathryn, as they both sported red and black ensembles following their workout in Venice, California.

Josh sported a red tank top, which he could be seen pulling up to wipe the sweat off of his face, which revealed the actor's toned abs.

He coupled the top with a pair of black and red athletic shorts, finishing off the comfortable look with black and white Nike sneakers.

He covered his brown hair with a black and grey baseball cap on the outing, which he sported backwards.

Kathyn also wore a red tank top for the gym trip, which she coupled with a pair of form-fitting black leggings that showed off her toned pins.

She added a bit more color to her ensemble by sporting a pair of purple and light blue Nike sneakers.

Her windswept blonde tresses were styled straight, with a few wisps falling in front of her face as she walked.

She hid her eyes behind a pair of stylish, black sunglasses, and had a grey backpack strapped to her back.

The active couple worked up a sweat at Gold's Gym together, before hopping on their bikes and riding home.

Two days prior the pair were spotted as they arrived at LAX after visiting the Venice Film Festival earlier in the week.

Josh looked casual in a fitted V-neck coupled with dark grey trousers and suede shoes, accessorizing with a blue and yellow baseball cap and sunglasses.

Kathryn wore a form-fitting white tank top, light wash skinny jeans, and a long, black scarf, as she carried a black jacket.

She finished off the look with suede ankle boots, and wore her long, blonde hair in beachy waves, as she sported just a touch of make-up.

The engagement between Josh, who was previously married to Diane Lane, and his former assistant was revealed in May, after a two year romance.

Josh will next appear in drama Everest, which hits theaters September 25, followed by Sicario - alongside Emily Blunt and Benicio Del Toro - due out October 2.
