Eddie Redmayne enjoys scenery as he snaps away on his camera on boat ride after premiering new movie The Danish Girl at Venice Film Festival

He's been the toast of the Venice Film Festival after his highly anticipated new film, The Danish Girl, premiered to a star-studded crowd on Saturday.

And on Sunday, leading man Eddie Redmayne got the chance to soak in his stunning surroundings as he took a boat trip in the Italian city.

The Brit actor was spotted snapping away on his camera as he zoomed across the water with his co-star Alicia Vikander.

After his glittering evening on the red carpet on Saturday, Eddie swapped his dapper suit for a more relaxed ensemble of jumper and slacks.

The 33-year-old teamed his brown sweater with a pale blue shirt and kept cool in sunglasses.

While his leading lady Alicia remained at the front of the boat, Eddie was keen to check out the view, clicking some pics on his camera during the ride to his next destination.

It's a busy few days for the 2015 Oscar winner, who has a hectic schedule of promo for his new movie while in Venice.

The premiere on Saturday saw Eddie joined by his co-stars as well as his real-life leading lady Hannah Bagshawe on the red carpet, with the newlyweds, who tied the knot late last year, looking more in love than ever.   

The Danish Girl is a poignant biographical drama which tells the true story of Lili - born Einar Wegener - who became one of the first people to have gender reassignment surgery in the 1930s.

As the film trailer reveals, it underpins the beautiful love story between Einar and his wife Gerda (Alicia), who falls for the 'charming and mysterious' artist.

The film is already hyped for big things at the Venice Film Festival, which is judged by three juries; The Venezia 72 Competition jury, Jury of the Orizzonti and Luigi De Laurentiis. 

Speaking at a press conference at the festival last week, Eddie admitted he was overwhelmed by the support and guidance he received from members of the transgender community, who he met with to research his role.

The talented actor said meeting them was 'the most brilliant education. Their kindness and support galvanised me'. The Danish Girl is scheduled to be released on November 27.
