Leaving a legacy: Chris Pratt pays a loving tribute to his late father Daniel by sharing a vintage photo of their fishing trip

His beloved father passed away in 2014 during the time he was busy filming Jurassic World.

And Chris Pratt seemed to be feeling nostalgic on Saturday, sharing a childhood snapshot with his pops Daniel and elder brother Cully while they held up fishing rods in the woods.

The 36-year-old actor paid a loving tribute to his late father, reading: 'Your to do list: 1)have kids 2)play outside 3)teach them to fish 4)take pictures Thanks Dad. Miss you man.'

In the vintage snapshot, Dan stands behind his two loving boys wearing a cap, black shades, and a plaid shirt as they geared up for their outdoor bonding adventure.

Both Chris and Cully were dressed for the occasion in shorts and striped t-shirts, smiling from ear to ear.

It seems Dan's lessons have continued forth, considering both Cully and Chris recently shared an up-to-date portrait of them standing proudly in front of a slew of sizable fish.

The Parks and Recreation star captioned the snap: 'Four fishermen. Many fish. I love to fish so much it might be a sickness. I was born this way..'

In June, Chris opened up to GQ about the heartbreaking struggle of losing his father, who was ill with multiple sclerosis for many years.

Chris was in New Orleans when he heard the news, sharing: 'I knew being the lead in the movie that I was really responsible for everybody’s attitude.'

He added: 'So I compartmentalized it all and dealt with it in my own way, but not openly for people to see. I got pretty angry and got drunk and almost got in a fight with a drug dealer outside of my hotel room.'

The Movie 43 star revealed his dad showed his own form of continual support: 'If I was on TV, he watched everything I was in. So it felt like I was able to communicate with him through doing work that was on TV.'

Fast forward several years, and now Chris is the proud father of his own to his three-year-old son Jack shared with actress Anna Farris.

Meanwhile, Chris is currently keeping busy filming The Magnificent Seven about a group of gun men in the old west who work together to help a poor village, co-starring Denzel Washington.

Last week, he posted a snap alongside one of the actors in the film: 'Chilling on set with Korean superstar and all around great guy #ByungHunLee aka #BillyRocks of the #MagnificentSeven800 horse falls!!! That's a new movie record!!!'

He dished: 'A horse fall is a stunt. When a stuntman falls off a horse. We've done over 800 on this movie!! So far so good. No injuries. Man or horse. This movie is going to be incredible. More to come!'

It's also recently been confirmed that he will be reprising his role as Owen alongside Bryce Dallas Howard in the untitled Jurassic World sequel slated for a June 2018 release.
