Julia Roberts gets her hair coiffed at Drybar... after calling her husband Danny Moder 'the safest place I know in the world'

Julia Roberts treated herself to a solo lunch and salon session in the Pacific Palisades on Friday.

The Oscar winner - who turns 48 next month - was dressed in neutrals for her outing, including a grey smock top, khakis, and action sandals.

The Normal Heart actress had her signature reddish locks coiffed and curled at Drybar, and then she grabbed healthy Latin food takeout from nearby Cafe Vida.

Braving the breeze, Julia appeared to be make-up free beneath her classic tortoiseshell Ray-Bans.

Last weekend, Roberts joined her husband Danny Moder and their three soccer-loving children - twins Phineas & Hazel, 10, and son Henry, 8 - at surfer Kelly Slater's Outerknown clothing launch in Malibu.

The August: Osage County star revealed it was 'crucial' her 45-year-old beau of 13 years was on the Pasadena set of her next film, Secret in Their Eyes.

Julia - whose mother Betty Lou passed away during the production - had to pretend to discover her teenage daughter's lifeless body in a dumpster during the toughest scene.

'I don't know if I would have been as willing to make myself that vulnerable if it weren't for the fact that the safest place I know in the world is across the room,' the Georgia-born belle told Entertainment Weekly last month.

The three-time Golden Globe winner plays a district-attorney investigator called Jess, who has to relive her daughter's rape and murder after new evidence is discovered 13 years later. 

'When it was finally all over, I'm getting a lot of hugs and a lot of tissues and a lot of "Are you okay?"s and there's a number of people broken up…and then the swarm of kindness kind of shifted from me over to Danny, like, "Are you okay?!"'
