Frankie Fielding and Scott Loach - who are they? Sportsmail's guide to new England 'keepers

Who are they? After Ben Foster  pulled out England's friendly with Hungary at Wembley Fabio Capello has named two replacements with zero Premier League experience: Frankie Fielding and Scott Loach. Sportsmail uncovers the pair here...

Frankie Fielding

Paul Robinson might not fancy being third choice for England but the same does not apply to Blackburn team-mate Frankie Fielding.

A product of Rovers' academy, Fielding has yet to make a senior appearance for Sam Allardyce's side but has lower-league experience on loan at Wycombe, Northampton, Rochdale and Leeds.

Fielding, 22, has played at England Under 19 and Under 21 levels - keeping a clean sheet on his debut for Stuart Pearce's men in 2008 - and Fabio Capello ran the rule over him at Ashton Gate on Tuesday night as he faced Uzbekistan.

Norwich boss Paul Lambert, who managed Fielding at Wycombe, believes the keeper is on the road to greatness.

'I knew nothing about him when he arrived, but I know plenty about him now,' said Lambert.

'He's an exceptional talent who will go on to have an outstanding career at the highest level.'

Scott Loach

Excused England Under 21 duty on Tuesday night so he could play in Watford's Carling Cup tie at Aldershot, but Loach missed that match as well after his call-up to the senior squad.

Joined Ipswich's academy in 1997, then had spells at Nottingham Forest and Lincoln before joining Watford.

A move to Leeds in 2007 was scuppered by their transfer embargo and Loach was instead loaned by Watford to Stafford, Morecambe and Bradford.

Made his league debut for Watford in 2008 against Reading, when referee Stuart Attwell awarded the infamous 'ghost goal'.

Loach, 22, has become first choice at Vicarage Road in the past two seasons, prompting interest from Tottenham.

After his England Under 21 debut in February last year, he went to the U21 European Championship in Sweden.

Loach's only appearance came in the final - and he was at fault for the first goal in a 4-0 defeat by Germany.

Ones Fabio could have called up...

DAVID JAMES

Played in three of the four World Cup games but has now joined Bristol City.

ROBERT GREEN

Not completely out of the picture despite his USA clanger but friendly comes too soon.

David James
Robert Green

Forgotten men: World Cup keepers James and Green (R) were both ignored

CHRIS KIRKLAND

Status as a Premier League No 1 for Wigan last season not enough to earn a second cap.

SCOTT CARSON

The West Brom stopper has rarely featured in Fabio Capello's squads.

STEVE HARPER

Newcastle No 1 overlooked despite superb campaign at St James' Park last season.

And, er... PAUL ROBINSON

Called up... but then retired from international football.
