Dakota Johnson has blossomed into a true red carpet favourite.

On Saturday, the 25-year-old put her posing prowess on display at a photocall for A Bigger Splash at the Venice Film Festival in a poppy patterned dress that conservatively fell below her knees.

Dakota certainly lived up to the challenge of posing solo for photographers, as she looked picture perfect while donning her summery and understated garment.

And just like the low-key garment, Dakota kept her hairstyle casual for the occassion.

The Five-Year Engagement actress swept her honey highlighted locks into a chic and messy style, with bangs and a few loose strands framing her photogenic face.

Rather than a dramatic palette of makeup, Dakota let her natural beauty shine with a coat of soft pink-red lipstick and bronze eye shadow.

With the Venice Film Festival in full swing we've had plenty of opportunity to check out our favorite stars on the red carpet.

Dakota also showed off her on-screen chemistry with her A Bigger Splash co-star Matthias Schoenaerts, who pulled the actress in close as they posed for photographers.

The actor kept it casual as well with jeans, white trainers, and a grey blazer to offset the low-key look.

The film explores the unusual tensions that unfold when a singer Marianne (Tilda Swinton) and her boyfriend (Matthias) are paid a visit during their restful trip on an island just outside of Italy by her ex-boyfriend, Harry (Ralph).

Harry, who also happens to be the one who introduced Marianne to her current other half, is accompanied by his daughter Penelope (Dakota).

Directed by Luca Guadagnino, whose previous credits include I Am Love, it is expected to hit cinema screens in May 2016.

Meanwhile, Dakota has recently finished up filming the romantic comedy How To Be Single opposite Rebel Wilson, Alison Brie, Leslie Mann and Damon Wayans and set for a February 12, 2016 release.

She also has two Fifty Shades Of Grey sequels in the works and she also has completed two films for release later this year.

One of them is Black Mass starring Johnny Depp in the title role, focusing on the true story of Whitey Bulgar who was the most infamous criminal in South Boston and became an FBI informant.
