ബെനിൻ- ഔദ്യോഗികമായി റിപ്പബ്ലിക് ഓഫ് ബെനിൻ- പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ ആഫ്രിക്കയിലെ ഒരു രാജ്യമാണ്. ഇതിന്റെ പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ടോഗോ, കിഴക്ക് നൈജീരിയ, വടക്ക് ബർക്കിനാ ഫാസോ, നൈജർ എന്നിവ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു. പോർട്ട് നൊവൊ ആണ് തലസ്ഥാനം. 1975 വരെ ദഹൊമെയ് എന്ന പേരിലാണ് അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നത്.

ആഫ്രിക്കയിലെ പ്രമുഖ പരുത്തി ഉല്പാദകരാണ് ബെനിൻ. അടുത്ത കാലത്തായി സാമ്പത്തിക മുന്നേറ്റങ്ങൾ നടക്കുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ലോകത്തെ ദരിദ്രരാജ്യങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണിത്. 1972-മുതൽ 2006-ൽ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് നടക്കുന്നത് വരെ കെരെക്കൌ ആയിരുന്നു പ്രസിഡൻറ്. 2006-ലെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ വിജയിച്ച് തോമസ് യായി പ്രസിഡന്റായി.
