Create Your Own Storybook

by

Once upon a time in the world of technology came a website that would create your very own personalized happily ever after… for FREE! With this program you can re-tell your own love story in the form of a customized book and dedicate it to your Prince Charming. The site provides  a variety of artist’s illustrations which you personally select, put in order and add your own text. You can make, share, and read these stories online for free or, for a price, you can order your own tangible soft or hard cover book. What a great way to show your love – in a gift they will always treasure!

Here Is What You Do:

1. Go to storybird.com and create your own completely free login account.

2. Follow this quick DEMO to learn HOW to create your own story.

Check out this one that I made:

Eternity Is Not Long Enough by senoritasarinita on Storybird

3. When your own story is completed you can:

        • Send your story via email (completely free) wouldn’t your husband love to have this in his inbox?
        • Embed the file in your blog or website (yep – free again)
        • Buy a download PDF, a softcover book, or a hardcover book

Finally…

4. Give your leading man this FREE PRINTABLE CARD with your own personalized dedication and snuggle up for story time!

Not feeling technologically inclined? Check out this homemade book craft tutorial!

However you decide to document your story – here’s to happy endings!

What a cute idea! I tried to view yours but it’s private :(

Too bad! My husband had the same problem on his computer and it was a combination of 2 things: he had an ad blocker that prevented him from viewing it online and/or he had to do an update on his software. After we played with both of those it appeared. Hopefully you can get it to work!

Sarina I was able to see yours now. it’s adorable!!! Funny that I hadn’t seen yours but I chose the same artist as you did for mine.

Here’s a link to mine. Everyone let me know what you think. I was thinking to print it and use it as a Christmas present this year.

I finally finished my book, and I really want to share it on my website, but I don’t see any features on the storybird site that would let me do it without downloading the PDF. Am I overlooking some essential, tiny detail?

I am so excited to see it! Don’t you love this site? Alright – here is what you do:
When you log in click on the YOU tab and you should find a picture of your book (if you have published it) Click the title of your book. This should bring you to a screen that shows the title page of your book and the inside pages to the side. Above the cover page their is a link that says “embed & badges” click that and you should see various options with html coding from there you probably know how to embed on your blog better than me! Good luck!

    • Sarina Sarina says:

Did you find it? If not – I made an addition to the post above with a visual to help others find the same links!

I was trying to do this storybook thing and I cant manage to send it through email and the demo is nothing like the actual program. HELP!!

    • Sarina Sarina says:

Awww – that is frustrating. Let me see if I can walk you through it: When you are logged in to the site click on the YOU tab that will take you to the page where you can see the book that you have made. Click on the title of your book. This should take you to a page that has the cover of your book central and the inside pages off to the side. Above the upper left side of your cover there is an area that says SHARE along with icons for facebook, twitter, stumble upon and email. Choose email (or any of the options) and that should be it!
Good luck! Hope that helps. I will try to add a visual of the page to this post to help others who are asking the same question!

I noticed a few other people have you asked you this question, and I tried to follow your directions in replies to them, but it is not working. I created a story, saved it, and want to have it printed as a hardcover, or at least email it to myself, but there is no “share” button on the upper left side of my cover page. Any help you have would be greatly appreciated. I’m trying to do something with my book for my one year anniversary which is October 25th.

    • Sarina Sarina says:

      Christina –
Without seeing your screen I can only guess what might be happening. My first hunch is that you have saved it but not PUBLISHED it. While in edit mode of your book, in the top right corner there is a dropdown menu that says “Menu” you can choose Save, save and close or publish. When you publish you can make it private or share it with the storybird world – it is up to you and from there purchase. If that doesn’t work PLEASE let me know and I can try another hunch!

I love this so much! I have just started making my husband a year of dates Christmas present, and we’ll make one of these books for one of our dates – so excited! Deborah, we’ll be printing the pdf on card too – hope yours worked well!

  14. Kimberly says:

Your book is wonderful! Thank you for sharing this. I just made one for my husband and emailed the link to him. We’re separated right now but I’m praying for his return. He may not appreciate the book right now, or even read it, but I wrote a story about our unfinished love story (about our past and how I’m now waiting, hoping, praying and believing for his return home). I hope some day in the future it will mean something to him, and when he returns I may order a hard copy of it to remind us how we survived the “worse” part of for better or worse.
