And Gemma Atkinson certainly showcased the fruits of her labour as she flaunted her gym-honed physique at the TV Choice Awards at London's Hilton Park Lane on Monday evening.

The 30-year-old Emmerdale actress - and self-proclaimed fitness fanatic - looked lovely in a two-tone dress as she stepped out for the swanky awards ceremony.

The soap star's mini-dress featured a high-neck top half, coupled with a black mini-skirt that displayed her gym-honed pins.

She added height to her tanned frame with a pair of black, patent heels and accessorised with a quilted clutch.

Her make-up was kept relatively pared-back for the evening as she showed off her natural beauty, in addition to a chic up-do hairstyle.

The blonde beauty was in attendance to support her fellow Emmerdale castmates, as she show was up for Best Soap. 

Taking to Twitter on Monday, the gym bunny revealed that she chose her hotel for her overnight London stay based on whether it had a gym.

Writing to her 141k followers before catching the train to Euston, she wrote: 'London bound 2day for the TV Choice awards. First question, "does the hotel we're all staying in have a gym?" If not I'm not going...' [sic].

Gemma also took to Instagram to tell her fans that it was important for her to work out on Monday before the awards, because she had a busy next day.

She wrote: 'I have 2 rest days a week and tomorrow is a busy ass day with getting back to Manc then driving to Leeds to film some scenes then driving back home so I need to train first thing to keep my physical & most importantly, my mental energy up.' [sic]

The actress joined Emmerdale this year after prior appearances in Hollyoaks and Casualty.
