The Voice winner Ellie Drennan's new single Ghost flops after selling less than 6,000 copies... despite grand finale being watched by 1.5 million

She might be on top of the world after winning The Voice Australia, but Ellie Drennan is not on top of the music charts.

The youngest ever contest winner at just 16-years-old sold less than 6,000 copies of new single, Ghost, in its first week of sales according to News.com.au.

It comes despite 1.5 million people watching Jessie J's performer Ellie sing the hit on the Channel 9 finale last week.

The song entered the ARIA charts at 25, with Justin Bieber's new hit What Do You Mean? taking the number one spot.

Other Australian singles in Ellie's way include Vance Joy's Fire And The Flood which sits at number 6 and The Voice coach Delta Goodrem's Wings, which comes in at number 16.

Ellie's record sales were not much better than last year's winner Anja Nissen who sold less than 2,000 copies of So Excited in its first week.
