  • Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to her second child Charlotte in May
  • Next week she will visit the Anna Freud Centre in London
  • She will also join Prince William and Harry at opening of Rugby World Cup

The Duchess of Cambridge will see a return to royal duties over the coming weeks - including an appearance at the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup.

Kate, 33, who gave birth to her second child, Princess Charlotte, in May, is said to have enjoyed spending the summer with her new daughter and son, Prince George, but is now keen to resume a limited programme of public engagements.

This will start next week with a visit to the Anna Freud Centre in London, as part of a series of appointments designed to focus on mental health issues in children and young adults.

It is an area on which she intends to focus much of her public work in the coming months, with another engagement later this month and many more beyond, according to palace sources.

Determined not to become a ‘rugby widow’, Kate will also join her husband, Prince William, and brother-in-law, Prince Harry, both passionate fans of the sport, at the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup which kicks off at Twickenham on September 18.

She is also said to be planning to attend other unconfirmed tournament events.

The Duchess and her husband will also undertake several joint engagements together, including visits to Dundee and North Wales in Late October and late November respectively.

William is said by aides to have ‘settled in well’ to his new role as a pilot with East Anglian Air Ambulance service and also revelled in the time he has spent with his family at Anmer Hall, their newly-renovated Norfolk mansion, in recent weeks.

Be a vision in white in Alexander McQueen

The Duchess of Cambridge looks utterly stunning in her bespoke Alexander McQueen dress coat worn to Princess Charlotte's christening.

Naturally, the sophisticated mommy chose McQueen, her go-to designer for an elegant knee length coat, with wide lapels and fitted waist.

The coat dress is quietly becoming Kate's signature look--the classic, demure design always is versatile and instantly chic.

The beauty is in the details, and when it comes to McQueen, we could expect the utmost attention to tailoring, which is important to bear in mind when going for this look yourself.

Though Kate's coat was made to measure, you can purchase something very similar with a few clicks to your right, at SaksFifthAvenue.com. Like Kate's coat, it also features structured shoulders and a flared skirt.

Of course with a brand like McQueen, we can expect a hefty price tag to match, so if you're in the market for more budget friendly options, browse through out style edit below!

The coming months, however, will be the first time he has really had to juggle his shift work with a full schedule of public engagements, supporting the Queen and focusing on military issues and fighting the illegal wildlife trade.

He plans to make a major public speech on Chinese television channel CCTV1, which has the nation’s largest audience share, on efforts to combat the illegal wildlife trade.

It will be filmed in mid-October, around the time of a Chinese State visit to the UK, and broadcast soon after.

It is an issue that he and his brother, Prince Harry, feel passionately about, say aides – indeed Harry has spent the summer working on front-line conservation projects in Africa.

Harry’s first public engagement after he arrives back in Britain later this week will see him marking the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain at a fly-past next Tuesday.

As Honorary President of the Rugby World Cup he will also attend dozens of events in support of the tournaments, interspersed with engagements focusing on the military and wounded veterans.

The prince, who turns 31 next week, will also return to his private work with the London District Personnel Recovery Unit in a voluntary capacity and support the Walk of Britain expedition by inspirational veterans’ charity, Walking With The Wounded.

In late October Harry will fly to the US for a series of meetings in Washington to support his Paralympic-style event for injured personnel, the Invictus Games, which will be held in Orlando next year.

He will also find time to squeeze in a visit to Lesotho, where his charity, Sentebale, is based as it opens a new centre for children suffering from Aids and HIV, the Mamohato Centre. This will be followed by a week-long official tour to South Africa.

Looking ahead, say aides, both Harry, Kate and William will also attend an event for children celebrating the British creative industries, organised by their Charities Forum and hosted by Wallace and Gromit animators, Aardman, at BAFTA in London in October.

Brothers William and Harry also plan a joint visit to Manchester in support of wounded veterans later this month.
