No sign of a smile: Kristen Stewart back to being glum, 24 hours after beaming on red carpet at Equals premiere

She said recently that when she's feeling something it shows on her face.

In which case, Kristen Stewart, 25, wasn't feeling entirely delighted to be leaving Italy on Sunday after the 72nd Venice Film Festival.

And who can blame her - as she was clearly on top of the world earlier this weekend as she threw a beaming smile and dazzled the red carpet in a stunning Chanel Haute Couture gown.

The actress was back to her more familiar low-key threads as she bade farewell to La Biennale 24 hours later.

She showed off her slim figure in skinny jeans, with on-trend ripped knees, which she teamed with a loose fitting V-neck t-shirt that flashed her black bra underneath.

After being pictured kicking off her expensive Christian Louboutin heels at the premiere of her new film Equals, she kept it comfy on her feet in pristine white Adidas Original Superstars.

The star covered her tousled brunette locks briefly with a baseball cap, but mainly opted to carry the item - and protected her eyes from the sunshine in dark glasses.

The Twilight actress appeared to have added a light dusting of peachy blush and lip stain, but kept her make-up to a minimum to show off her flawless skin.

The movie is a dystopian remake of George Orwell's 1984, which Kristen told Deadline was a nerve-racking challenge.

Stomp with stripes like Kristen Stewart

Back in the day, stripes on your shoulder denoted army rank or bravery or something laudable to do with fighting for your country but these days three stripes on your sneakers means one thing... adidas.

Celebs like Kanye West, Rita Ora Katie Holmes, and Kristen Stewart are going back to the basics and donning the Originals. So no surprise that she's wearing box fresh adidas Original Superstar trainers on her little feet. Fashion Finder often wonders if she wears a pair of sneakers once and then throws them away like disposable contact lenses... but we digress.

Anyway, white and black is a great summer combo on your feet whether you're wearing cut off shorts with bare legs or working a pair of cropped jeans or printed trousers like Rita is here. Great alternatives are Stan Smiths, or a bargain buy at YesStyle!

'I was nervous going into the movie because of how simple it is and overtly emotional. I’m 25', she told them, 'I’ve been through some stuff and I knew it was going to be painful and I knew if I didn’t do it right I would have hated myself' she added.

She said the hardest part of the film-making process was 'not allowing yourself to feel something. I wear my heart on my sleeve. If I’m in a mood, my mood shows.'

Kristen has been linked to her co-star  in the futuristic love story, Nicholas Hoult, ahead of its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 13.

The star leaned into the tall and strapping British actor on the red-carpet as well as being seen sticking together at a film screening in NYC back in April.

The pair were certainly starry-eyed while cosying up together in Italy, with Kristen looking glamorous beyond words in a shimmery silver lace and satin gown and a dramatic up-do on Saturday.

While British actor Nicholas, who was linked to Jennifer Lawrence until last year, was handsomely outfitted in a black tuxedo with black bow tie.

Kristen and her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson called it quits in 2013 after four years of dating.

Coincidentally, Liberty Ross announced last Saturday her engagement to music executive Jimmy Iovine - three years after her ex-husband Rupert Sanders cheated with Kristen.

Kristen and Rupert became close during the production of Snow White And The Huntsman, which Sanders directed.
