Casual Kim Murray grimaces as she watches Andy crash out of US Open... but Frank Lampard and Christine Bleakley are there to provide moral support

  • Kim Murray is set to welcome her first child with husband Andy in February
  • The 28-year-old was courtside during day eight of the US Open in New York
  • Wore chic striped top and yellow mini skirt to watch him lose in four sets

After flying to New York to support her husband in his bid to recapture his US Open title, Kim Murray grimaced at his defeat instead.

The 28-year-old mother-to-be looked worried as she sat courtside in Flushing Meadow, as Andy, also 28, lost to South African Kevin Anderson yesterday.

There to comfort her were Frank Lampard, who is now based in New York and his fiancee Christine Bleakley, who sat in the seats behind Kim but looked as engrossed in the game as she did.

Earn your style stripes in a crochet trim tee from Asos

Andy Murray may have have crashed out of the US Open but his wife Kim is still winning in the style stakes.

This is one WAG who always looks gorgeous courtside, with her elegant outfits and incredibly glossy hair. She's like the Duchess of Cambridge of the tennis world. Kim favors the higher end of the high street with labels like Hobbs, Ted Baker, Whistles and L.K. Bennett which she mixes in with designer pieces by Beulah London, Burberry and Victoria Beckham.

But that doesn't mean she doesn't love a bargain buy from time to time and in fact we've noticed that Kim does some of her shopping at Asos. This crochet trim tee is another purchase from the online retailer and we love the perennially on trend stripes with that crochet trim on the hem and sleeves.

The great news is, for anyone who wants to steal Kim's style, that this tee is now in the sale for only $22.29 so click (right) to buy it before it's gone for good. But if you do miss out then you can recreate the look with one of the tops in our edit below.

Kim, who was sporting a deep tan, wore her dark hair scraped back into a messy bun and took shade under a blue handheld fan against the searing early autumn heat.

Despite that she looked cool in a breezy short sleeved striped T-shirt with a lemon yellow mini-skirt, which covered her growing baby bump.

The stunning pet portrait artist was seated next to her husband's former coach and David Cup captain Leon Smith, and in front of deeply tanned Frank, 37, and Christine, 36, who fanned herself with a panama hat.

But it wasn't all sorrow and disappointment as the friends laughed together during breaks in the game and cheered at some of Andy's better moments.

Frank and Christine talked and laughed together and even posed for pictures in the courtside seats.

Ultimately, however, the Scottish tennis champion's hugely impressive run of 19 consecutive quarter finals or better at the Grand Slams came to an end.

In a recent interview with The New York Times 28-year-old Andy spoke out about his wife's strong personality.

'She has a very good sense of humour. She's very protective, very loyal. She has a bit of a temper on her as well, too,' he said.

The Wimbledon champion added that 'she's extremely protective and loyal to me, that's for sure.'

As her February due date draws near, Kim has cut down on her travelling and only plans to attend five tournaments this year.

Andy confirmed rumours that the pair were expecting a baby earlier this month, prompting his Twitter fans to express their congratulations.

The happy news comes just months after their April wedding in Dunblane, when he confessed to BBC Sport that he was more worried about fatherhood than marriage.

He said: 'I think I will be more nervous about starting a family because that would be more life-changing, in a good way.'

Andy's mother Judy Murray has made no secret of her longing for grandchildren, telling Closer Magazine: ‘I’m really looking forward to being a granny. I’ve always wanted to have grandchildren but I had to be patient and let them get married first.

She also pledged to be a 'very active granny'.

The Olympic gold medal winner's father had a more humorous response to his son's announcement, according to the Mirror, reportedly saying he hoped the baby will have his daughter-in-law's looks.

Meanwhile, Murray most now concentrate on his last task of an extremely arduous summer – getting GB to a first Davis Cup final since 1978.
