Dishevelled David Tennant looks a little worse for wear as he hops into a car after taking two gongs at TV Choice Awards

He's one of TV's biggest names, therefore the TV Choice Awards is naturally a good excuse for a blow out for David Tennant.

Former Doctor Who star David looked a little worse for wear as he made a beeline for a taxi after Monday night's event.

The esteemed actor made the sensible decision to call it a night, while still maintaining appearances on exiting London's Hilton Park Lane.

Looking suave in a midnight blue suit, David still kept his tie knotted high and his shirt crisp as he left looking a little bleary eyed.

David's appearance was rugged for the red carpet and he displayed an unshaven appearance to offset his sharply-suited image.

It appeared to have been a fun-packed evening, with stars including Chloe Sims, Katie Piper and Alison King all getting the giggles as they made their way home late at night.

After all, David's night had been cause for celebration, since he walked away with not just one but two gongs on the night.

David's show Broadchurch snatched the Best Drama Award, while he received the Best Actor accolade alongside it.

The star was therefore responsible for two out of three of ITV's awards because Sheridan Smith also bagged Best Actress for her appearance in Cilla.

This year will be a big one for David, who is due to appear in Netflix comic book series Jessica Jones.

He will play Kilgrave alongside Don't Trust The B's Krysten Ritter and was seen filming the series earlier this year.

Tennant even excited Doctor Who fans this year and sparked speculation of a return to the show when he met old friend and show producer Russell T Davies.
