The devout Christian couple held their son for the first time last night (main right) after DNA tests in San Salvador, El Salvador, found there had been a mix-up with another boy born at the hospital where Ms Casanellas gave birth. For almost four months the couple had brought up the boy as Jacob, but become increasingly suspicious that the darker-skinned boy (inset) was not the light-skinned baby she had given birth to. A DNA test confirmed their fears, prompting the dramatic arrest of the gynecologist who oversaw the birth (left) as the couple feared their son had been given to child traffickers.

The video was posted to the internet by Jonna Jinton, a 25-year-old from Sweden, who captured the incredible patience of her pet pooch. In the clip, the dog sits away from the food, refuses to look at it and even rests its head on the table. Later Jonna returns to give her dog a treat after it successfully resisted temptation.
