Forgetting something? Kristen Stewart undergoes a retro transformation but can't quit sneaker habit on set of Woody Allen film with Jesse Eisenberg and Steve Carell

She has been known to ditch her high heels midway through a red carpet and it looks her need for comfort is a top priority when filming as well.

Kristen Stewart stepped out with co-stars Jesse Eisenberg and Steve Carell in New York on Tuesday.

The trio are joining forces on the new - and so far untitled - Woody Allen period feature.

Strolling to the Brooklyn Public Library movie location, the group looked as if they had time travelled to modern day from the Forties.

Dressed just like the people of the time would have, the two actors were period perfect in their three piece suits.

Kristen meanwhile, made for a perfect living and breathing spot-the-difference game with the star putting comfort and not authenticity first.

Stomp with stripes like Kristen Stewart

Back in the day, stripes on your shoulder denoted army rank or bravery or something laudable to do with fighting for your country but these days three stripes on your sneakers means one thing... adidas.

Celebs like Kanye West, Rita Ora Katie Holmes, and Kristen Stewart are going back to the basics and donning the Originals. So no surprise that she's wearing box fresh adidas Original Superstar trainers on her little feet. Fashion Finder often wonders if she wears a pair of sneakers once and then throws them away like disposable contact lenses... but we digress.

Anyway, white and black is a great summer combo on your feet whether you're wearing cut off shorts with bare legs or working a pair of cropped jeans or printed trousers like Rita is here. Great alternatives are Stan Smiths, or a bargain buy at YesStyle!

For their walk to the set location, the 25-year-old was dressed as her character in a pink patterned dress with a Peter Pan collar which cinched in at the waist.

The usual tomboy styled star even wore a pretty bow tied in her brown bob hair in keeping with the trends of the day.

Suffering for their art: While men do not have to suffer through wearing hard to walk in heels, the two actors did have to walk in 90-plus degree heat in heavy suits

While the black and white sneakers are usually considered retro - harking back to their popularity in the 1980s - they were about forty years too late for her vintage look.

The star also added some other modern touches including a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses and a large Chanel fabric tote handbag.

While the Twilight actress' may have found the required footwear too uncomfortable, she was in a much better position than her male co-stars.

Bringing the heat: Jesse in particular must have been feeling a little hot under the collar, with the 31-year-old wearing brown trousers, suit jacket, long sleeve shirt and a woollen vest

Steve meanwhile wore a three piece grey suit with a waist coat and was further transformed into his character with a pair of round specs.

While little is known about the new Woody Allen project, the fact it was filming in Brooklyn, New York was interesting as the film was to be the first since the 1977 classic Annie Hall filmed in Los Angeles - a place the director has long harboured a not-so secret disdain for.

Already some filming has been done in Los Angeles but seems the 79-year-old director felt more comfortable back in his beloved New York.

The film is set to be a star-studded cast with Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Jeannie Berlin, Corey Stoll and Ken Stott while Bruce Willis recently dropping out due to scheduling issues.
