'My life is not perfect': YouTube star Zoella on struggling with the pressures of online fame as she shares the cover of Seventeen with fellow internet celebrity Tyler Oakley
- Zoe Sugg, 25, who is better known as Zoella, is a fashion and beauty vlogger with millions of followers
- Tyler Oakley, 26, is also a popular YouTube personality
- The two are both majorly successful but, as they appear on the cover of Seventeen, they explain that they still have issues with self-doubt
- Zoe says she struggles with anxiety and panic attacks, while Tyler still battles insecurities associated with an eating disorder
It's easy to assume that young people who've achieved 'internet fame' by sharing intimate details about their lives online are self-assured and at least a little bit vain - but two popular YouTube stars who have over 16 million subscribers between them have revealed that they have plenty of insecurities, too.
Zoe Sugg, a 25-year-old English fashion and beauty vlogger who is better known as Zoella, and Tyler Oakley, a 26-year-old YouTube personality from Mississippi, shared their anxieties in a new interview with Seventeen.
Appearing on the cover of the magazine's latest issue, which goes on sale September 15, the social media stars insist that even though they have millions of adoring fans, lucrative book deals, and seemingly 'perfect' lives, they still have their own self-doubt to deal with.
Honest conversation: Tyler Oakley and Zoe Sugg open up about their insecurities in the latest issue of Seventeen
Internet famous: Zoe, who is better known as Zoella, has two popular YouTube channels; the original is a fashion and beauty vlog with millions of followers
So many fans: Tyler's YouTube channel also has millions of followers and he has published a popular autobiography
Make it a monochrome look with adidas
From YouTube to the front page of Seventeen Magazine, Tyler Oakley has mad a way into our hearts with his quirky personality.
Tyler joined fellow YouTuber, Zoe Suggs, on the cover and they both looked stylish as ever. Zoe rocked a jeweled collar shirt underneath a red shift dress while Tyler wore a gray blazer, white tee and navy trousers.
We love the look of the cover, but what caught our attention were his sneakers that he wore in the shoot. adidas is making quite the name for itself (as if it didn't have a name already)!
From Yeezy's to the Originals, celebs are rockin' adidas like they're house slippers.

Zoe started her fashion and beauty-focused YouTube channel, Zoella, in 2009 and now has over nine million followers who tune in to watch her show off her favorite products, looks, and trends. Her second, more personal, YouTube account has nearly three and a half million subscribers, and she has also published a New York Times bestselling novel called Girl Online and created her own beauty line.
Zoe has certainly been lucky. While the comments sections of YouTube videos can be a cruel place, they have treated her quite kindly. Writing about her videos, young people fawn over her, showering her with complements and telling her how much they'd love to look just like her.
But just because fans have called her 'flawless' doesn't mean her life always feels that way.
'A lot of young people look at me and think, "She has the perfect life: She's got the boyfriend, the house, the dog, the book, the successful YouTube channel,"' Zoe told the magazine in an interview for its October 'social issue'. 'Not everything is perfect… Sometimes I have days where I don't want to leave my bed, or I'll have multiple panic attacks.'
Freaking out: 25-year-old Zoe said that while she feels confident talking to her fans, she occasionally has panic attacks
She's going far: It is especially nerve-wracking for the English star, who is from a small town, to travel to London for events
Branching out: She has to travel more and more, especially since she has published a New York Times bestselling novel and created her own beauty line
In fact, despite her rising fame, Zoe is still just a small-town girl at heart - her hometown, in rural Wiltshire, England, has just over 1,000 residents. So traveling far from home and taking on big cities like London can still be quite nerve-wracking for her.
'When I came to YouTube, it was comforting to sit and make video diaries,' she said. 'It wasn't that scary. It was only when things started happening. "You've been invited to an event in London - hop on the train!" That's definitely out of my comfort zone.'
She went on: 'Sometimes I'm really confident... When it comes to picking up an award in front of 9,000 people, I'm like [snaps], I can do that. But the Zoe part of me is like, "Trains are scary!" It's as if I have two different sides.'
Fast friends: Zoe and Tyler, who are pictured in an Instagram image posted to Zoe’s account, posed together for the October issue of Seventeen
The 'in crowd': The two know each other from the YouTube celebrity circuit, and have previously appeared in videos together
Tyler, who has parlayed his funny YouTube personality into a successful autobiography and a slew of hyped-up public appearance, is also a big name online. He has five million Instagram followers, won the Teen Choice Award for Choice Web Star in 2014, and also appeared that year in The Advocate's 40 under 40: Emerging Voices list.
But some stuggles, like having once battled an eating disorder, don't just disappear when people begin screaming your name and asking for your autograph.
'Talking about it is really hard because it's something I suppress and work through every day,' he explained. 'And I haven't really talked about body image in videos. I assume when people read this, they'll be like, "Oh, you're not fat." That's not what it's about at all. Even when I was the skinniest I'd ever been, I was still not happy.'
Known far and wide: Tyler was voted Choice Web Star at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards and has also published an autobiography
It's not easy: The 26-year-old once had an eating disorder and still struggles with body image issues
His own worst critic: He said it can be especially hard when he is in the spotlight and taking pictures with fans; he'll also sometimes beat himself up when he doesn't work out
While he is in a better place today, he still doesn't always feel incredibly confident all the time- and the fame can sometimes exacerbate his body image issues.
'With videos, meet and greets, and a million pictures a day, it's definitely a thing that I think about,' he said. 'It's not about clothes fitting. It's not about feeling chubbier than normal. I'd beat myself up over a day that I'm not active. If I'm lazy, then I feel grody.'
Zoe also shared that while her fellow cover star Tyler comes off as super confident and sassy online, he's more sensitive than people might think - but that's not a bad thing. She described him as a 'teddy bear or marshmallow', saying that he is actually really 'soft and cuddly'.
