Fancy a career change, Paloma Faith? Singer answers the phone and mans the changing room at  Agent Provocateur as she launches new line

  • Singer Paloma Faith was previously a shop assistant at Agent Provocateur
  • The 34-year-old worked at London's Broadwick Street store for three years
  • Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell previously modelled luxury lingerie line

Rather than taking to the stage Paloma Faith took to the shop till on Tuesday to help launch Agent Provocateur's new autumn/winter line.

Clad in a turquoise lace dress that exposed her black bra and knickers, the 34-year-old Only Love Can Hurt Like This hitmaker was seen answering customer queries on the telephone and manning the changing rooms.

It was a trip down memory lane for Paloma who previously worked part time at London's Broadwick Street boutique when she was 21 and studying for an MA in theatre directing at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.

Hackney-born Paloma is now the face of underwear giant's Knickers Forever campaign. She said it felt 'nostalgic' and reminded her of her 'carefree' days.

'I've never had a job - other than at AP - that has formed me as a person or influenced my whole life,' she said.

'When I walk past the shop in Soho I feel really nostalgic about a time when I think I was quite carefree. I look back at it and just I think of youth.'

Peroxide blonde Paloma, who insists she 'still wears Agent Provocateur underwear to this day', was shot in the brand's iconic staff uniform - a baby pink, button-up dress - by former colleague, photographer Alice Hawkins.

Look lovely in a lace number like Paloma Faith

Back aged 21, Paloma Faith had a part-time job at Agent Provocateur, just like any other regular shop assistant and now 13 years later, the famous singer is fronting their autumn/winter campaign. How things have changed!

The star looked fabulous in the lingerie giant's latest collection, stunning in cute lace bodices, sexy two-pieces and last but certainly not least, this turquoise lace dress. The dress is one of those pieces that can be as daring as you like. Keep it for the boudoir as a sexy alternative to the nightie or dare to bare and don it on your next night on the town for all to see. You don't have to decide now, but click right to bag yourself Paloma's dress before they're all gone.

If this is a little on the steep side mind (we don't blame you) then why not check out the slightly less daring styles below?

Esteemed snapper Alice - whose work is known for its off-kilter glamour - was inspired by her personal collection of cheeky Polaroids, which were taken during her days as a shop girl.

Paloma can be seen playing the ultimate Agent Provocateur store manager in the playful images. She wreaks havoc in the fantasy store, playing dress-up in the back rooms and cleaning windows in her garters.

During the three years that Paloma worked in the shop, she regularly served Fran Cutler, who works in PR and is close friends with model Kate Moss.

'After a few years of serving her, she asked me what I did outside of the store and I told her that I wrote songs and performed them in clubs and pubs,' she told The Daily Telegraph

'She arranged that I meet with the head of Virgin Records who then introduced me to my manager. His first reaction was, "Your songs are terrible but you are such a brilliant character!" So I stuck in there and tried to learn.'
