There is a month to go until Revival hits the shelves so this star better hope she does not have to ditch an article of clothing every time she plugs the new CD - as she has left little to the imagination already.

Selena Gomez continued with her campaign to ditch her Disney past on Tuesday, posting a near naked photograph on her Instagram.

It is not clear that the stripped back - in more ways than one - photo will be the cover for the new album which will be her first in two years.

With little but her own body to cover her, the 23-year-old used the image to let fans know to expect her new album on October 9.

The star's current single Good For You, already has heralded that fans can expect a very adult album this time around.

That combined with this latest image - which is both haunting and sexy while leaving the star venerable and exposed - suggests she does not plan to hold back this time around.

Ensuring she does not show off too much of herself, the Come & Get It star wears a pair of black knicker briefs and her dark hair is left out and to cascade over her cleavage.

The words and the image all point to the possibility that Selena plans to make her real emotions known through her songs.

The star has already started on a truth telling mission last week, revealing that she was once very self-conscious about the tone and register of her voice.

The actress and singer opened up about her insecurities in a tweet explaining how she has learned to love the way she speaks.

'I was always insecure with my speaking voice because it's so low,' the 23-year-old posted on her Twitter account. 'I never felt like it was feminine-sounding.'

Selena went on: 'I didn't know it would be such an asset to who I am now, though. It adds a cool, personal quality. It's exciting.'

While all this may be exciting, the pop star confesses she is also nervous about her new release.

But, she told Entertainment Tonight last month, while she's excited about the new music, she's also nervous about how fans will react.

'I've been so stressed about everything from the second single to how we're going to present the album,' she told the TV show.
