Donald Trump took a night off from the campaign trail to attend the US Open on Tuesday with his wife Melania (left). The presidential hopeful was on hand to watch the epic match-up between sisters Serena and Venus Williams followed by men's number one Novak Djokovic taking on Feliciano Lopez. Despite a night of great tennis however, it was not all fun for Trump who arrived to the USTA Tennis Center in Queens to massive booing from the New York crowd. He also got a little shuteye during the matches (top right) and chatted with tennis great John McEnroe (bottom right).

UPDATED Debra Reiss, 34, whose father David, 72, made the London clothing retailer into a worldwide giant, had been working for the business as a brand manager in Los Angeles. British-born Ms Reiss, who studied at the University of Manchester, is said to have been suffering from a long term illness. She has a partner and a young daughter, Scarlett, who was born last year. A spokesman for Reiss today confirmed to MailOnline that the young mother had died.

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen put on a united front during a date night in Boston on Monday. The couple were spotted hand-in-hand en route to a cinema date on night, but they both showed the strain of a difficult few months. A tour guide was expecting tragedy at Trolltunga, the rock ledge above Lake Ringedalsvatnet in Norway, as Kristi Kafcaloudis (centre) fell to her death on Sunday. Tributes for the woman have flooded social media. Family and close friends described the loss of a 'beautiful, special, inspirational and amazing' friend as 'tragic' on Facebook. Petra Laszlo (inset), who worked for Hungarian news site N1TV, which is run by the anti-immigration far-right Jobbik party, was filming Syrian refugees as they fled across a field on the Hungarian-Serbian border. Footage taken by another cameraman showed her deliberately sticking her leg out (left) as a man carrying a crying child ran past her. In the clip, the refugee can be seen falling to the floor (top and bottom right) before appearing to shout at her. She has now been sacked with immediate effect. Opposition parties Egyutt-PM and the Democratic Coalition also said they will seek to initiate charges of violence against a member of the community, which carries a sentence of up to five years in prison, against Laszlo.

Two computer developers based in Detroit, Michigan, created the interactive tool called 'The True Size Of,' which shows how large countries really are compared to one another. It allows users to search for a country and drag it on top of another one to show how the scale of a country is distorted the closer it gets to the Earth's poles. Captain Chris Henkey, 63, from the UK, inset, was on one of his final flights as a pilot when his left engine burst into flames on the runway at a Las Vegas' McCarran Airport on Tuesday evening. Today his family declared he did a 'bloody good job' to save all the 157 passengers on board and revealed Mr Henkey had texted them to say there had been a 'massive explosion' but he was safe. 14 passengers were injured and those on board described their terror after hearing a loud bang and seeing flames engulf the wing before smoke poured into the cabin.

But they tell Daily Mail Online the whole process is overshadowed by their fight and that their future wedding is 'tainted'.  Queen Elizabeth II today becomes the longest-reigning Monarch in British history. She has been on the throne for 63 years. Or to be more precise, 23,226 days and 16 hours at the very moment at 5pm UK time this afternoon when she eclipses the previous record-holder, her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria.

However, as overjoyed as the couple were to be reunited with their son, who they have named Moses, pictured inset, their heartbreak is evident as they parted with the child, who they had been calling Jacob, pictured right. In an interview with MailOnline this week, Ms Casanellas spoke of their desire to raise both Moses and Jacob, whom she had been 'breastfeeding loving, and caring for 24/7' since May. Malachi Heisler (right), 18, fatally shot his estranged father, John Heisler (bottom left), in the head on Tuesday after waking up to cries for help around midnight after he forced his way into the family's home. The teen grabbed his rifle and saw the man, who he did not recognize at the time as he was wearing all-black tactical gear and a ski mask, pointing a gun at his mother, Jolene Andrews (top left). The shocking video was caught on a camera phone by a farmer living in the Chinese province of Sichuan, who watched the snakes battle it out for ten minutes. The man said that the white bellied rat snake appeared to be winning at first when it bit the smaller reptile on the back, but the king ratsnake quickly turned the fight around before swallowing its enemy whole.

The one-year-old Chihuahua named Jesse lives in America with his owner, who explained that the dog can get animated when feeling excited or lonely. In the clip the video maker attempts to get the dog to speak before all hell breaks loose and the dog begins screeching at the top of his lungs.
