Hannah Myers, from Austin, Texas, was 310lbs when doctors told her it would be too dangerous for her to get pregnant because of her size, news which came as a bitter blow to the 27-year-old who was eager to start a family. At the start of the show, Hannah explained that her poor eating habits stemmed from her difficult childhood.

After her parents divorced, her mother started working the night shift as a nurse. In order to work late into the night, Hannah's mom took sleeping pills to sleep during the day - often leaving her daughter to fend for herself.

Hannah recalled trying to make her own meals when she was 10-years-old, noting that she would pour ketchup into a coffee mug and eat it because it 'tasted good'.

And by the time Extreme Weight Loss trainer Heidi traveled to Austin to surprise Hannah and tell her she has been chosen for the transformation of a lifetime, it was revealed that her weight had spiraled to 310lbs.

Following Hannah’s first weigh-in, the two headed University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center where Hannah would be staying for the first 90-days of boot camp.

Upon her arrival, Chris and Heidi gave Hannah the challenge of losing 80lbs in three months, pushing her into a gruelling workout schedule in the hopes of motivating her to get started on her goal.

During one of her most challenging workouts, the trainers had her take the weight of a medicine ball and squat with it and then throw it over her head.

Hannah had to repeat this move 150 times, and while she struggled to complete the workout, Chris also got to the root of her emotional issues.

'With this rep I want you to tell me one place you have fallen short in life,' he asked her.

'Starting a family,' Hannah replied tearfully.

Heidi continued to press her, asking: 'Did you let your husband down? Are you letting your husband down every day?'

And Hannah admitted that she was.

When Chris asked her what else she regretted, Hannah said that her husband is selling is car because she couldn't fit into it anymore.

'You know for Hannah this challenge was about so much more then throwing a ball over a net,' Heidi told the cameras. 'This was about Hannah actually digging deep and putting all of her regrets out on the table.'

Heidi told Hannah that in order for her to transform physically and emotionally, she needed to take all of her regrets and get rid of them.

However, Hannah had more challenges ahead. Halfway through boot camp, she broke her left foot, derailing many of her workouts and casting doubt over her ability to ever achieve her goal weight.

Refusing to accept defeat however, Chris and Heidi adjusted their client’s workouts so that she wouldn’t need to spend time on her feet.

And whenever she needed to get around, Hannah was forced to rely on a scooter, which allowed her to elevate her broken foot – while still using her healthy one.

Amazing start: Even though she broke her foot, Hannah still managed to lose 86lbs in three months

Despite her difficulties, Hannah still managed to blow past her weight loss goal, shedding a total of 86lbs in just three months.

Hannah then headed home for the second phase of her journey, however, it was back in Austin that her addiction to food resurfaced. The trainers caught her cheating on her diet by indulging in unhealthy junk foods, all of which she was supposed to be avoiding in favor of lean, green menu options.

Frustrated at her lack of commitment, Heidi and Chris were even more disappointed when Hannah returned from Austin for her 180-day weigh-in, having managed to lose a measly 19lbs.

Thankfully, Hannah's dedication was reinvigorated during phase three, and she focused on kick-starting the active lifestyle that she had always wanted to share with her husband Matt.

She even stepped up her game another notch in order to complete a challenge of kayaking, biking and running to win activities for their vacation.

Hannah's vow to be active and follow her diet also enabled her to shed another 30lbs. But at 175lbs, she hadn't hit her goal yet.

For her final reveal, a year after she started her journey, Hannah stunned her family and friends when she walked on the stage wearing a figure-hugging dress that showed off her trim physique.

When she hopped on the scale, she was ecstatic to learn that over the course of a year she lost almost half of her body weight, clocking in at 159lbs.

Matt also joined her on stage and gave her a big kiss in celebration of her tremendous weight loss.
