Amy Duggar is sharing intimate details about her weekend wedding ceremony - and her raucous reception.

In a new interview, Amy revealed that her perfect day went just as planned despite the recent actions of her scandal-plagued cousin Josh.

She also admitted that things got a little crazy at her reception, and that is when the Duggar clan took off before the night turned wild.

'My conservative family left probably right when the music started,' Amy told People of the party that followed her weekend ceremony.

'It went from classy to trashy real quick!'

Indeed Amy - often called the 'rebel Duggar' - let loose with dancing, a cash bar and even had the groom take off her garter with his teeth.

Her cousin and aunt and uncle Jim Bob and Michelle are against both dancing and drinking.

'I'm like a free bird,' said Amy.

'But I still have morals.'

Letting loose was just what Amy needed after it emerged that her cousin Josh had been cheating on his wife Anna - just months after it was revealed he had molested five minors as a teenager.

'Despite all the crap going on in my family, it was an awesome moment,' said Amy.

She also said she gave Anna a big hug when she saw her at the wedding and wrote personal cards for her and Michelle to thank them for coming despite their current troubles.

'I can't imagine what she's been through,' said Amy.

Anna was there with daughter Mackynzie, who was in the wedding party.

'There's been so much heartache and pain. We didn't want the attention to be about what happened,' said Amy, who also admitted she briefly considered eloping.

As for Josh - who is currently in a faith-based rehab program - Amy said; 'He needs to get as much help as possible.'

She also said that she is happy to be able to drop the Duggar surname now that she is married and take the name of her new husband, small-business owner Dillon King.

Unlike her recently married cousins Jill and Jessa, Amy bared her shoulders and some cleavage in her strapless wedding gown made by Essence Australia.

After the wedding, Amy changed into a slinky satin gown for the afterparty, letting her 400 guests know then that things might get rowdy should they want to leave.

The night ended with her riding off with her new husband - on the back of his Ducati motorcycle.
