That's a rude awakening! Celebrity Big Brother housemates arise to find living room transformed into USA vs. UK game

There is always plenty of change in Big Brother.

And this week is no exception - except, rather than the housemates rotating, it seems the surveillance house's furniture will.

In Tuesday's episode the tenants were greeted with a rude awakening when their living room was transformed into a task during the night.

As the day begins, Jenna tells Austin to go and look at the changes in the front room, while James and Gail follow him. 

They enter to find that their comfortable furniture - including sofas and beanbags - have been removed and replaced by a circle of tall boxes, affixed to the ground and emblazoned with question mark symbols.

Also on the walls are drawing of the contestant's, complete with fingers pointing at them.

Austin wasn't far behind as he followed suit alongside Gail Porter, who was also in her pyjamas and hid her bald head in a woolen hat.

Before long they realised that the new additions to the house would seal at least some of their fates.

Later in the day, it was revealed that the ongoing war between the American and British housemates will reach (another) boiling point as the two teams go head to head for the luxury shopping budget.

The celebs will be set a series of tasks, involving everything from home truths to stinking bishops, and will earn individual points for successful completion of each challenge.

But, of course, BB is never that simple and the result of the whole shopping task will rest with just one celeb from each team – as chosen by you the public in an online poll – but the housemates won’t know which two until the end. 

Out of the chosen two the celeb with the most points will win the luxury shopping budget for their team. To the winner the spoils, to the loser chickpeas. Stay tuned to the website and app for all the latest.
