She has come a long way from cleaning motels in country Australia.

While when most rappers mention horses they are referring to the power their fleet of luxury cars has, Iggy Azalea is all about the original four legged kind.

The 25-year-old hip hop star was spotted living out every little girl's dream in Los Angeles, California, on Monday as she indulged in a bit of equestrian.

The Fancy star put herself and one of her recently bought horses through their dressage paces in a dusty ring just outside of the city.

While only recently taking up horse riding, the Australian rapper has focused considerable energy into becoming the best rider she can be.

On Monday, Iggy enjoyed a more low key training session than usual, practicing hers and her steed Defender's dressage moves.

Iggy Azalea doesn’t horse around when it comes to her equestrian style.

The rapper looked very Fancy when she stepped out for a spot of horse riding in California, looking every inch the part thanks to her gear from Ariat.

Of late the star has been learning how to show jump and just a few days prior did some grid jumping where she had to jump over multiple jumps in quick succession with only a stride between them.

And while equestrian activities such as these may be considered a rather refined pursuit, Iggy explained them in rather typical Iggy fashion.

Writing on Twitter on Friday: 'I did some grid jumping for the first time today and I did want to s**t myself a little before I went, but i did it and it was so FUN.'

Explaining why she is suddenly so drawn to horse riding, the star said: 'Jumping your horse and a rollercoaster is the same amount of excitement to me.'

All the lessons and time in the saddle she has been having appears to be working, as the rapper looked very competent and relaxed as she rode around the fenced in ring.

Wearing a helmet for safety, the hitmaker guided her horse - which is a rather fine specimen of a Swedish warmblood - back and forth for some time despite it being very hot.

Had it not been for the large bodyguard who joined her - on foot not on hoof - Iggy would have looked like any other rider making the most of the long Labor Day weekend.

While only getting into equestrian earlier this year, the star has certainly fallen for the sport having bought herself not one, but two horses.

In addition to the big brown show jumper, the star has a Dutch warmblood named Strictly Business or as she has dubbed him, Muscle Man.

Iggy may be getting so goods so fast, as she reportedly took up horse riding as a way to relieve stress.

And, after a rough few months of scandals, less than stellar record sale, a cancelled tour and few celebrity feuds, she probably is finding herself needing to be in the saddle a lot.
